About Oregon Institute of Technology

The Oregon Institute of Technology is a state-run polytechnic university located in the city of Klamath Falls, in southern Oregon. First founded in 1947, the university has expanded rapidly since it was first established, and was given its current name in 1973. Nowadays, it more commonly known as “Oregon Tech”.

The university is primarily based on a 190 acre rural campus in the northern part of Klamath Falls. The university offers accommodation on-campus in both village apartments and residence halls. A number of different options are available with regards to rooms, including both single-sex and co-educational dorms. In addition to this, a flexible dining plan is available, and campus has a number of different dining facilities on offer for students.

In terms of recreation, like many similar universities Oregon Tech runs a number of competitive sports teams, collectively known as the Owls. They compete in the CCC, across a number of different sports including basketball, baseball, soccer and track and field. As well as this, the university runs its own dedicated fitness centre offering a number of sports facilities for students to use, and access to the centre is free for many students. There are also a number of different student organisations and clubs on campus catering to a wide variety of interests.

Academic offerings at the university mainly consist of over 30 different majors, primarily focusing on Applied Sciences and Engineering, as well as Management and Communications, among other things.

Some famous alumni of Oregon Tech include baseball player Benny Agbayani, and Oregon Governor Earl Snell.
