Örebro University was established in 1999, although it can trace its roots back to a number of higher education programmes in Örebro which developed in the 1960s onward.
As a young university, Örebro prides itself on its modernity and broad range of academics. Over 80 undergraduate and master’s degrees are available with some 600 variations.
There are eight schools at Örebro: Business, Health Sciences, Hospitality, Culinary Arts and Meal Science, Humanities, Education and Social Sciences, Law, Psychology and Social Work, Medical Sciences, Music, Theatre and Art and Science and Technology.
The university also has a broad range of research programmes. They investigate over 35 different subjects in the arts, humanities, sciences and technology, in environments ranging from the Cardiovascular Research Centre to a forum for Narration, Life and Meaning.
Four campuses accommodate the different divisions of Örebro University. The main campus is located in Örebro itself. The university medical campus, Campus USÖ, opened in 2014 directly adjacent to the university hospital.
The city of Örebro sits between Stockholm and Gothenburg, making it easily accessible and, in return, giving easy access to the two largest cities in Sweden. Örebro itself is the seventh-largest, making it walkable and safe without losing out on attractions. There are plenty of cafes around the university where students can get a fika – coffee and cake – with friends or as a study break.

Role Overview We are looking for a motivated Material Science and Engineering Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will lead the development and testing of materials for various applications, contributing to innovative projects that drive our mission forward. The centre is made up of 27 research units, staffed by around 200 researchers and 100 students. The Youth Mental Health and Technology team puts young people at the centre of their own care. We partner with health services to develop innovative treatments for those aged 12-25 with emerging mental health disorders. The integration of cutting-edge research with safe and effective clinical care enables us too quickly and effectively translate our research findings into clinical services, facilitating continuous improvements to mental health services for the benefit of young people in Australia. We are looking for a Research Assistant to join our team and contribute to clinical trials and cohort studies of national significance for youth mental health. This position will be responsible for providing relevant support to the Brain and Mind Centre's Youth Mental Health and Technology team. This includes supporting the management and delivery of a health services clinical trials and cohort studies, preparing relevant educational materials, performing fundamental aspects of clinical research work, working with clinicians, academics, and youth mental health service providers, and contributing to the efficient operation of the research work area by providing essential research support. Your key responsibilities will be to: recruiting study participants, liaising with potential participants, their clinicians and services, where appropriate conducting diagnostic interviews with participants using multiple standardised clinical assessment instruments, always adhering to research protocol liaising and communicating with clinical staff (such as psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, nurses, youth workers), as well as research staff located on-site facilitate referrals into research studies and other forms of continuing care and conduct clinical/research programs as required coordinating the collection of data, including assisting other research staff with data entry and analysis assisting in presentations to clinical staff and other services to promote and provide information about the research studies assisting with the preparation of publications arising from the study ability to work outside of normal business hours on occasion and travel to the trial sites as necessary.
