IIIa Reference no.: 5643 DoSChem is the largest doctoral training program in Austria focusing on the field of chemistry and closely related sciences by bringing together about 200 doctoral students and 52 principal investigators. DoSChem managing team is looking to appoint an Organisational Assistant (Managing Officer). The position is initially limited to 12 months, with the possibility of extension to a permanent contract. Your personal sphere of influence: The successful candidate will work in close contact with the coordinator of the doctoral school (Dr. Elena Rastew) and the team of the school management. Your future tasks: General administrative tasks, including application and recruitment processes, financial administration, and database management Logistical and organisational support for events and activities Planning and implementation of curriculum‑based activities and events Preparation, organisation, and follow‑up of scientific events (symposia, conferences, etc.) Administrative support for the international application process Assistance with budget monitoring Maintenance and further development of the School’s website Management and strategic development of the School’s social media channels Establishment and coordination of the alumni programme Onboarding support for new members of the School Support‑related responsibilities Support for the Head, Deputy Head, and the Steering Committee in their administrative, academic, and strategic responsibilities Assistance with DoSChem correspondence Support in onboarding processes Assistance with internal and external communication of DoSChem This is part of your personality: Required qualifications Experience in administrative and program coordination roles, ideally within the University of Vienna research environment Strong understanding of administrative structures, procedures, and workflows in higher education environments Confident use of digital tools and systems, specifically: CMS20 (TYPO3‑based) content management system for website administration i3v, the University of Vienna’s central administrative system Moodle for active course administration and management Excellent written and spoken communication skills in German and English Experience in both administering and creating content for websites and social media channels Experience with broader digital communication strategies or community‑building activities Independent, well‑structured, and reliable working style Strong organisational skills and attention to detail High level of stress resistance, flexibility, and commitment Ability to work effectively in a team Desirable qualification Familiarity with the University of Vienna’s Project Monitoring Tool (newly introduced system) What we offer: Work-life balance: Our employees enjoy flexible  working hours, remote/hybrid and/or part-time work (upon agreement). Besides scientific activities in the development of new and improved measuring methods and analytical separation techniques, research is undertaken in biomedical and preclinical areas, generating bioanalytical tools for tomorrow today. We invite applications for a university assistant postdoctoral in mass spectrometry. The candidate will work on clinical and pre-clinical questions in the cardiovascular context. A successful candidate will work with interdisciplinary teams (clinical, biostatistics, analytical, and bioinformatics scientists), will streamline data analysis and integration across various domains. Regular publication of scientific and methodological results is strongly encouraged. Finally, the successful candidate will be able to present complex results clearly and concisely, in a manner accessible to a diverse audience of quantitative, experimental, and clinical scientists. Research Fellow: AHRC Project ‘Strange Geographies: Spatial Imaginaries of Medieval Britain’

The University of Southampton is seeking to appoint a post-doctoral Research Fellow for 30 months (with the possibility of extension). The Fellow will support the AHRC-Funded project 'Strange Geographies: Spatial Imaginaries of Medieval Britain, c.1200-1500’, a collaboration between Southampton, Queen Mary University of London, the University of Cambridge, and a range of heritage and creative partners. ‘Strange Geographies’ focuses on an under-explored body of manuscript sources containing geographical material produced between 1200 and 1500. It will itemize, contextualize and interpret these sources to understand their role in shaping medieval spatial imaginaries, identities, and wider histories of geography. Through collaborations with musicians, poets and heritage partners, the project will also explore potential of creative collaborations to open up new ways of connecting people to the places and spaces of the past. The Fellow will carry out library and archive-based research into medieval manuscript resources across the British Isles and occasionally overseas, as well as desk-based research, transcription, editing, and preparing materials for web publication under the direction of the project lead and co-leads. You will contribute to the project dissemination by organising and participating in conference panels, workshops, and public engagement activities. You will publish academic outputs individually and in collaboration with the project lead and co-leads. You will have completed a PhD in a relevant medieval subject and will have good reading and transcription competence in medieval Latin as well as demonstrable experience of working with medieval manuscripts (including from the British Isles). In addition to these essential disciplinary research skills, you will have strong organisational skills. You will be required to be flexible and to have the ability to collaborate effectively with team members across multiple institutions.
