Oles Honchar Dnipro National University was founded in 1918 as Ekaterynoslavasky University. In 1933 it became Dnipropetrovsk State University and in 2000 the university was granted national status. In 2018 the university was renamed Oles Honchar Dnipro National University. The university is named in honour of Oles Terentiovych Honchar. Honchar was a famous Ukrainian and Soviet writer, scientist and public figure. He also served in World War II and for a period of time was a member of the Ukrainian parliament. When the university first opened there were only four faculties: history and linguistics, law, medicine, and physics and mathematics. Since then the university has expanded and now consists of 20 faculties, offering both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The student body is comprised of roughly 3,000 international students, representing more than 20 countries between them. The university has developed partnerships with leading higher education institutions around the world to facilitate academic and scientific exchanges. It also has strong connections with Yuzhnoye Design Bureau, one of the world’s largest rocket space centres. Scientific research is carried out at the university’s facilities throughout the year. The university publishes over 200 monographs and almost 2,000 scientific manuals annually. About 5,000 students also participate in research projects, producing more than 600 articles every year between them. The university is located in Dnipro, a city in central Ukraine. With a population of about one million, Dnipro is the country’s fourth largest city. Up until 2016 the city was called Dnipropetrovsk. Dnipro was an important industrial centre of Soviet Ukraine and today it is the country’s business and political capital.

Description The Materials NMR Lab at New York University Abu Dhabi seeks to appoint a Post-Doctoral Associate to conduct research in solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, materials synthesis, computational chemistry, and advanced structural characterization of functional materials. The successful candidate will contribute to ongoing projects focused on understanding structure–property relationships in molecular solids, porous materials, pharmaceuticals, organic materials, and energy-related materials. The successful candidate must hold a PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related discipline, within less than 5 years post receiving their PhD. The candidate should have a strong research background in at least one of the following areas: solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, materials synthesis, computational chemistry, NMR crystallography, or advanced structural characterization of materials. The candidate is expected to have demonstrated experience in conducting independent research, designing experiments, analyzing scientific data, and preparing manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals. The candidate should be capable of contributing to multidisciplinary research projects involving experimental spectroscopy, materials characterization, and computational modeling. Prior experience with solid-state NMR spectroscopy, including magic-angle spinning experiments, multinuclear NMR, quadrupolar nuclei, or two-dimensional NMR methods, is highly desirable. Experience with computational methods such as density functional theory calculations, geometry optimization, and prediction of NMR parameters will be considered an advantage. The candidate should have excellent written and oral communication skills, strong organizational ability, and the capacity to work effectively in a collaborative academic research environment.
