About Olds College

Olds College is a public post-secondary institution located in Olds, Alberta, a small town less than an hour from Calgary.

Officially founded in 1913, the first students at Olds College studied field husbandry, farm mechanics and domestic science. In 1963, it became Olds Agricultural and Vocational College to reflect its modern course offerings, which were expanding outside of agriculture. Its name was simplified to Olds College in 1970.

Students can now take courses in a range of subjects including agriculture, horticulture, business and agriculture technology among others.

Olds College has two campuses: the 2500-acre main campus can be found on the eastern edge of the township of Olds. In 2006, the Calgary campus was opened as part of a partnership with the Calgary Stampede Board. It is located in the Bow Valley College south campus.

The college is a member of the Alberta Rural Development Network, which aims to facilitate, support and champion rural community development through collaboration, research and service provision.
