Olabisi Onabanjo University was established in 1982 to, “address the educational needs of Ogun State,” and was originally known as Ogun State University (OSU). Today it is spread across five different campuses and has 32,000 students. 

The university has the following faculties: agricultural sciences, engineering and environmental studies, basic and clinical medical sciences, administration and management sciences, arts, education, law, pharmacy, science, and social sciences. It also offers a range of postgraduate courses. 

The main campus is in Ago-Iwoye (Ijebu) and is colloquially known as Permanent Site (PS). It houses arts and humanities and natural sciences. Then there is the College of Health Sciences in Sagamu (Remo), the College of Engineering in Ibogun (Egba), the College of Agricultural Sciences in Aiyetoro (Yewa), and the Mini Campus in Ago-Iwoye, which houses the Centre for Continuing Education.

International students can apply to the university as a “direct entry candidate”, which involves proving that you have relevant qualifications such as A-Levels. These credentials must first be uploaded to the Nigeria Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). 

There is a strong focus on students having a positive experience of university life, through the provision of convenient and sociable accommodation. 

Residents can also use the university’s various facilities, including a sports complex, laboratories and student support centres.
