Nukus Innovation Institute is one of the first private higher-education institutions in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, an autonomous republic that occupies the North-Western region of Uzbekistan.
Nukus Innovation Institute was founded in 2022. It operates in cooperation with universities elsewhere in the world, and its courses were developed in collaboration with foreign professors.
Courses fall under the remit of 10 departments: software engineering; economics; history; psychology; pedagogy; primary education; preschool education; teaching of philology and languages; accountancy and auditing; and finance and financial technologies. Teaching at the institute is delivered in Uzbek, Russian, English and Karakalpak.

Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor in Modular Integrated Construction Smart Materials in the Department of Civil Engineering, to commence on September 1, 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a two-year fixed-term basis.

The Department of Civil Engineering is one of the five engineering departments in the Faculty of Engineering. The Department has a world class reputation for leading research and teaching in civil engineering, and has nurtured high-calibre leaders for the community as well as the civil engineering profession. The Department is ranked 20th in the world under the QS University Subject Rankings 2026 in the subject area of civil and structural engineering. The Department is active in research in construction engineering and management, transportation engineering, geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, and water and environmental engineering. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Structural Materials, Construction Engineering and Management or a related field. Relevant post-doctoral work experience in research on infrastructure technology and/or information technology in construction, primarily focusing on MiC, modular construction, or modular building, but also including digital twin, building information modelling, geographic information system, artificial intelligence, big data analytics, internet-of-things, sensors, blockchain, automation and robotics, smart infrastructure, etc. is required and experience in the area of smart and liveable cities would be desirable.

The appointee will be expected to conduct research projects, teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate level projects. He/she will also be required to take up various administrative duties.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with the appointee's qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.

About the opportunity

We are seeking to appoint two Radio Frequency (RF) Engineers to join the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE)at the University of Sydney. In this role, you will work closely with industry partners to design and develop WiFi RF circuits, contributing to cutting-edge advancements in wireless communications.



The Telecommunication research area within the School of ECE has an established international reputation in wireless communications and signal processing, comprising five IEEE Fellows, several research fellows, and more than 50 postgraduate students. The University of Sydney is ranked 13th globally in Telecommunications in the recent Shanghai subject rankings, providing a highly collaborative and innovative research environment.



Your key responsibilities will be to:


	design and develop RF and analogue integrated circuit blocks such as power amplifiers, LNAs, and front-end modules
	perform schematic design, simulation, and optimisation at transistor level using industry-standard EDA tools
	conduct post-layout verification and support tape-out activities
	participate in measurement and characterisation of fabricated ICs, including on-wafer testing
	contribute to practical IC design methodologies and workflow development
	collaborate with internal research teams and external industry partners to deliver project outcomes
	manage competing deadlines and contribute to multiple concurrent projector


About you


	postgraduate qualification in electrical engineering, microelectronics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
	proven experience in RF or analogue IC design
	strong understanding of transistor-level circuit design and RF fundamentals
	experience with circuit simulation tools such as Cadence, ADS, or similar
	familiarity with CMOS or BiCMOS technologies
	ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
	strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
	excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills



Preferred experience includes:


	experience in power amplifier, LNA, or RF front-end design
	exposure to RF measurement techniques such as load-pull and S-parameter characterisation
	experience with IC layout and awareness of parasitic effects
	prior tape-out or silicon validation experience
	experience working with industry partners or within an IC design environment



Appointment will be made at either HEO 7 or HEO 8 classification level depending on the candidate's profile and experience.

Knowledge Mobilisation Fellow – NIHR ARC Wessex

1 post available with at 0.4FTE. Flexibility in FTE for the Knowledge Mobilisation role may be possible depending on current priorities. Fixed Term for 18 months with the possibility of extending subject to funding.

The NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) Wessex is one of ten ARCs across England awarded a total of £157 million funding over five years from April 2026 to deliver applied health and care research that improves patient outcomes, enhances service delivery, and supports sustainable health and social care systems. 

Our vision is to lead transformative applied health and care research, building on regional strengths while delivering scalable, inclusive solutions nationwide. Across our themes, Healthy Communities and Prevention, Mental Health, Living Well with Long-Term Conditions, Integrated Care, and Data and Technology, we aim to create care that is inclusive, community-based, preventative, digitally enabled, and equitable.

This fellowship offers individuals interested in Knowledge Mobilisation the opportunity to work within NIHR ARC Wessex and support our research and its engagement with communities and neighbourhoods, while developing their academic careers. Knowledge Mobilisation focuses on getting the right information to the right people, in the right format, at the right time to support the use of research.

Knowledge Mobilisation works across themes to produce accessible, practical, and tailored outputs for local and national needs. Activities include engaging with non-academic partners, co-production, evidence synthesis, dissemination, implementation, and influencing policy and decision-making. 

The opportunity is aimed at individuals with the potential to become leaders in Knowledge Mobilisation who are health and/or care professionals, with a publication track record or equivalent, well-developed communication, relationship building skills, and willingness to build skills in knowledge mobilisation, implementation, or research engagement.

Applicants will be ambitious individuals with confidence and experience engaging with collaborators and stakeholders at all levels across different geographies and sectors of the health and care system; a willingness to work with ARC Wessex research partners across local health and care systems. You will be self-motivated, have excellent communication and writing skills, ability to meet project milestones, produce work of high quality. 

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to develop their knowledge mobilisation expertise, through targeted training opportunities and their own practice, and will support capacity building in knowledge mobilisation among researchers and organisations working with ARC Wessex.

As part of this role, you will have the optional opportunity to join the NIHR Academy if: 


	The post fulfils at least 25% of your total working week 


AND 


	A formal training and career development plan is developed and incorporated within the post, agreed with support from your line manager within three months of commencing.
