The Department of Public Health and Medicinal Administration (DPM) under the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) at the University of Macau (http://fhs.um.edu.mo/) is now inviting applications for the position of Full, Associate, or Assistant Professor in Public Health. Candidates are expected to have strong expertise in at least one of the following areas: traditional public health, hospital management, or medicinal administration. Established in 2013, FHS is committed to providing high-quality educational programmes, conducting impactful research, and delivering dedicated services to the community. To strengthen its teaching and research in public health, FHS founded DPM, which focuses on areas including traditional public health, hospital management, medicinal administration, infectious diseases, and data science. Currently, FHS offers a Doctor of Public Health programme, while its DPM offers both the Bachelor of Science in Bioinformatics and the Master of Science in Global Public Health programmes. Qualifications A doctoral degree in related biological, health and/or medical studies. Candidate for Assistant Professor should demonstrate a high potential of excellence in research and teaching and is preferable to have at least three years of postdoctoral training. The appointment at the rank of Full Professor and Associate Professor depends on qualification and achievements of the candidate, such as the established international excellence in research and scholarship as a proven record of publications in high calibre international journals. The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in 2026/2027. Remuneration A taxable annual remuneration starting MOP1,250,200 (approximately USD154,350) for the position of Full Professor; MOP1,052,800 (approximately USD129,980) for the position of Associate Professor and MOP855,400 (approximately USD105,600) for the position of Assistant Professor will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions. Full-time, 12-month fixed-term opportunity, with possibility for extension Exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Associate (Level A) to join the Matilda Centre for Research in Mental Health and Substance Use on an MRFF-funded trial of an online intervention to improve mental health and help-seeking among adolescents Base Salary $109,263 - $121,054 + 17% superannuation About the opportunity The Matilda Centre for Research in Mental Health and Substance Use provides a world-first synergy of leading prevention, early intervention and treatment research and translation programs in substance use and mental disorders. The Matilda Centre brings together researchers in broad fields to share skills, integrate data, and harness new technologies to develop and trial innovative prevention, early intervention and treatment programs for substance use and mental disorders. We are looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate (Level A) to join our research team and evaluate a school-based digital intervention to improve youth mental health. In this role you will coordinate research activities and a randomised controlled trial, funded by the Medical Research Future Fund, for a social connection intervention to improve adolescent mental health (the Mind Your Mate program). You will work collaboratively with the Mind Your Mate project team, supervise junior research staff, and aid the Chief Investigator and Senior Research Academics. This is an exciting opportunity that is open to qualified academic Level A. The level at appointment will be determined on the skills and experience of the selected candidate. Your key responsibilities will be to: Lead day-to-day coordination of the randomised controlled trial, including ethics applications and relevant approvals, data collection and management, recruitment, preparing progress reports for funder, liaison with trial participants, project staff and web developers, management of the project budget and ensuring rigorous and ethical implementation of the trial procedures and protocol Initiate, implement and coordinate recruitment strategies, making use of a range of strategies, including engagement with educational professional bodies, and direct recruitment through contact with schools.
