Job Purpose The Professional Officers Division (POD) houses a centralized pool of academic staff under the Professional Officers scheme. Professional Officers come with specialised and deep technical skills acquired through extensive industry experience. They form the talent pool which brings a much-needed industry perspective to student learning. They facilitate applied learning and applied research in SIT, complementing the academic expertise of the faculty to bring industry practices and applications into the curriculum. Professional Officers leverage on their industry experiences to create authentic learning environments, where discovery and innovation take place. They act as coaches and mentors to students during practical learning activities such as laboratory sessions, Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Professional Officers could also lead or work with faculty on industry innovation projects to provide solutions to the industry. In addition to their role in applied learning and applied research, Professional Officers manage the centralised laboratory facilities and resources in SIT. With Technical Officers, laboratory safety professionals, and administrators in POD, they jointly develop central policies and processes for the safe and seamless operation of laboratories in SIT. Key Responsibilities Design and teach labs & practice modules. Mentor students in Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Lead or co-lead innovation projects with industry. Manage labs and equipment to support academic programmes and applied research. Ensure safety in labs Job Requirements Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field from a recognized university. Experience: A seasoned technical specialist with 10+ years of industry experience in software development lifecycles, with strong technical expertise and hands-on development experience. Programming Languages: C#, C/C++, Python, Java. Software Engineering Principles: Expertise in Object-Oriented Design, Microservices, and API Development. Cloud & DevOps Technologies: Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD Pipelines, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP. Passion for supporting research and academic projects, with a track record of developing software solutions to address technical challenges. Extensive industry experience and knowledge to provide valuable industry perspectives in an academic setting. Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with a keen interest in working closely with students in a learning environment. Committed to continuous learning and staying updated on industry advancements. Professional certifications in relevant areas will be an added advantage. Candidates with exposure to Big Data and AI technologies will have an added advantage in supporting advanced research and applied projects.

The Role The Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences is seeking to appoint a motivated individual to join the Medical Programme Professional Service Team. The post holder will work closely with the Senior Administrative Officer and Medical Programme Manager to support them in delivering assessment and progression processes and for the School of Medicine’s Graduate Medicine programme. This role will focus on managing and implementing processes in relation to all aspects of student assessment and ensuring accurate records and data are managed and in line with University and GMC regulations. The postholder is expected to build a knowledge of the systems and processes involved in order to meet expectations for recording and tracking student progress. About You The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate strong technical and IT skills with a focus on reporting data and supporting the development of bespoke systems aimed at monitoring and recording student data. They should be a proactive individual, competent in the use of IT with an attitude open to change and working independently. The ability to work to a high level of accuracy is also essential. The role will require excellent interpersonal and organisational ability demonstrating adaptability and flexibility with regards to changing workloads and priorities. The role will involve working with a range of staff across the School of Medicine and wider university and to adapt and support a number of professional administrative activities involved in the BMBS Graduate Medicine programme. Job Description As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Research Fellow to join an exciting applied research project within the Infocomm Technology cluster at SIT. This project addresses the critical challenge of delivering real-time Artificial Intelligence (AI) services in Internet of Things (IoT) networks, where latency and timeliness are paramount. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end investigation of novel edge-assisted offloading strategies for IoT networks. The role will bridge rigorous theoretical work with hands-on offloading algorithm design and development for IoT networks. The core responsibility is to build and validate edge-assisted offloading strategies, complete with software APIs, through rigorous simulations and live demonstrations. This position is ideal for a researcher with a passion for solving complex problems at the intersection of wireless communications, edge computing, and machine learning, and who is eager to translate theoretical insights into practical, IoT systems. Key Responsibilities Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI) to ensure all project deliverables are met. Derivation of closed-form theoretical latency and timeliness expressions for cloud-hosted AI services and edge-assisted offloading strategies. Analysis of theoretical latency and timeliness for cloud-hosted AI services and edge-assisted offloading strategies. Design and development of edge-assisted offloading strategy and associated software APIs. Validation of edge-assisted offloading strategy via simulations and live demonstrations. Job Requirements A Ph.D degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or equivalent. Independent, highly analytical, proactive and a team player. Strong theoretical background in wireless communications or edge computing will be advantageous. Proven track record in research and development of edge intelligence algorithms will be advantageous. Knowledge of machine learning or reinforcement learning techniques will be advantageous. Proficiency in algorithm development using Python will be advantageous
