About You To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities: Demonstrated experience in teaching in a university setting. Demonstrated leadership or team coordination experience in higher education, including experience contributing to course teams, fostering a collaborative working environment, and supporting the delivery and enhancement of undergraduate curricula in alignment with institutional goals. (Desirable) Demonstrated capability to contribute to teaching a range of undergraduate and postgraduate innovation-based unit offerings. Demonstrated commitment to research in the university context including high quality publications (Desirable) Qualifications A PHD tertiary qualification aligned to innovation methodology or equivalent demonstrated experience. The Faculty of Arts and Humanities invites applications for the position of Head of Department of Portuguese (at the rank of Full/Associate Professor). The Department of Portuguese is an established and lively scholarly community. The Department offers an undergraduate degree in Portuguese Studies concentrating on Portuguese with selected courses in Language, Linguistics, Literature, Culture, History and Translation. At the undergraduate level, the Department also teaches Portuguese language within the Faculty of Law and offers elective courses in Portuguese as a foreign language to students from all faculties of the University. At the postgraduate level, the Department offers two Master programmes (i) Portuguese Language and Intercultural Studies; (ii) Translation Studies (Portuguese-Chinese), as well as one PhD programme covering various areas of Portuguese Studies. Qualifications The successful applicant will possess: A PhD in any area of Portuguese Studies: Linguistics, Literature, Culture, Translation or Language Teaching, or related areas; Demonstrable competence in departmental management, planning, and communication, along with the ability to provide leadership within the Department; An outstanding track record of internationally recognized research and scholarship; Experience and success in supervising postgraduate students and a proven track record of excellence in teaching; Native or near-native fluency in Portuguese and the experience in teaching the above-mentioned subjects; A good command of English; knowledge of Chinese is an advantage. Remuneration A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,052,800 (approximately USD129,980) will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. About the Role: Victoria University is seeking an experienced and motivated Lecturer / Senior Lecturer (Speech Pathology) to take on the key role of Practice Education Lead. In this role, you will lead the coordination and delivery of practice education across the Speech Pathology courses, ensuring students have access to meaningful placement experiences that meet curriculum and accreditation requirements. You will oversee student placements and clinical assessment processes, while maintaining and strengthening partnerships with practice education providers. A key focus of the role is to expand and sustain placement capacity to support the long-term viability of practice education within the program. You will also contribute to excellence in teaching and support the professional development of practice educators through training and ongoing engagement. As Practice Education Lead, you will serve as a central point of contact for students and internal and external stakeholders, supporting the effective administration and continuous improvement of the placement program. Position Details: Academic Level B, $113,221 - $134,449 per annum or Academic Level C, $138,695 - $159,922 per annum plus 17% employer superannuation contribution, this is a full-time (36.75 hours per week) ongoing appointment. You will contribute to teaching in the University’s undergraduate programs and, at Senior Lecturer level, supervise honours and higher degree students. The role also includes supervisory responsibilities for sessional staff. An ability to translate accreditation requirements into effective learning and teaching practices is essential.
