Full time, continuing position Academic level C ($146,897 - $169,387) + 17% Superannuation Based at the Melbourne City campus and flexible working arrangements About the Position The Senior Lecturer will contribute to the teaching and research efforts of the School in the discipline of law. The incumbent is to make a significant contribution to the delivery of programs and to be actively involved in research in the discipline of law, consulting and other professional activities relevant to the discipline and to their work in the School of Law. The Senior Lecturer will be required to teach and conduct classes in the Priestley courses as required and otherwise in law courses relevant to their field of expertise within the discipline, and to contribute substantively to the academic and administrative, consultative and coordination tasks involved with these courses. The Senior Lecturer may have responsibility for program management, or other service role. Academics with expertise in any of the Priestley 11 subject areas (contracts, torts, evidence, civil procedure, equity and trusts, constitutional and administrative law, company, property law, ethics and professional responsibility) should apply. Expertise in the fields of private law, civil procedure, and practice-oriented subjects such as wills and succession and advocacy, is desirable. The Senior Lecturer will have expertise in using educational technologies in delivery of legal education, and scholarship in the field of law and technology. The Senior Lecturer will develop, engage in and collaborate in high quality research projects that are aligned with the University's research focus areas to achieve success in attracting research funding and to produce high quality outputs in the discipline of law. The Senior Lecturer will have an important research role in embedding their research expertise into the life of the School and will be required to develop high quality, productivity-driven networks across RMIT and with local, national and global partners. To be successful in this position, you'll have: Demonstrated ability to coordinate large courses and to actively engage in the design and development of programs at undergraduate and post-graduate levels, including high quality curriculum and program materials. Demonstrated ability to implement innovative approaches to student-centred learning and quality improvement. Demonstrated ability to actively engage in the design and development of courses and programs. Demonstrated ability to manage student issues related to effective learning. Ambition to engage at the forefront of educational technology, and research in law and technology, or social justice. Nationally recognised research track record including substantial record of research outputs in the discipline of law in high quality outlets. Demonstrated potential to lead research with the ability to apply for external research grants, sustain research effort and manage funded research projects. Experience in supervising higher degree by research candidates, in an enriching intellectual environment. About the School of Law The School of Law, launched in 2025, emerged from the Graduate School of Business and Law. About RoboPrecinct@PDD SmartPrecinct@PDD initiative aims to develop a precinct-scale robotics and embodied AI ecosystem at Punggol Digital District (PDD).
