The Cancer Research UK core funded Southampton Clinical Trials Unit (SCTU), based at Southampton General Hospital, has expertise in the design, conduct and publication of clinical trials and other well-designed studies from first-in-human phase I to practice changing phase III trials. Managing a growing portfolio (75% cancer, 25% non-cancer) that covers the complete spectrum of clinical practice, from primary care through to tertiary referral medicine, including pan-cancer experimental therapeutics, surgery, radiotherapy and early diagnosis. Undertaking academically sponsored multi-centre early and late phase clinical trials, we work nationally and internationally to create the evidence for patient benefit that will directly influence routine clinical practice in the NHS and overseas. Due to expansion, we currently have a vacancy for a Senior Trial Manager to join the existing cancer portfolio team. The Senior Trial Manager will be responsible for the oversight of trials ensuring they are delivered according to required standards, time and budget. This is a senior post within the CTU with advisory, leadership, engagement, and line management responsibilities. The appointed Senior Trial Manager will work specifically on a single trial developing SCTU expertise into clinical collaboration opportunities with industry partners, where an academically sponsored trial will result is supporting MHRA drug licencing, which aims to fulfil faster movement from research to patient access. The successful candidate will have significant experience of trial management gained through working on interventional clinical trials, including experience of IMP management, and have excellent knowledge of legislation, regulation and governance environments relating to clinical trials. The Senior Trial Manager will be required to work with multiple stakeholders so must have an excellent communication style and experience of matrix management, as well as the ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and be a good leader and line manager. Experience of regulatory affairs including submitting drugs for licencing would be an advantage. SCTU is a leading UK academic CTU located within the state-of-the-art Centre for Cancer Immunology building within the University of Southampton, based at Southampton General Hospital. Description The Division of Science at New York University Abu Dhabi is inviting applications for Associate Research Scientist positions in the broad research areas of mathematical analysis and partial differential equations (PDEs). While all applicants with a background in the analysis of PDEs will be considered, candidates with prior experience in theoretical physics, fluid mechanics, kinetic theory, dispersive equations or harmonic analysis will be given special attention. The Research Associates will be appointed for a duration of two years and will work under the supervision of Associate Professor Diogo Arsénio on subjects including: Magnetohydrodynamics and the mathematical theory of plasmas. Description New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) invites applications for a Junior Research Scientist to join an exciting multidisciplinary research program investigating the environmental and ecological drivers of productive fishing grounds in the United Arab Emirates. Working in partnership with Emirates Nature–WWF and government stakeholders, the successful candidate will support marine ecological surveys, fisheries monitoring, and environmental assessments that will contribute to evidence-based fisheries management and habitat restoration. The Junior Research Scientist will become part of a multidisciplinary team undertaking ecological field surveys, environmental monitoring, habitat assessments, and fisheries research throughout the UAE. The role combines regular fieldwork with laboratory and data analysis, providing opportunities to contribute to applied research that directly supports marine conservation and sustainable fisheries management. Working closely with researchers from Mubadala ACCESS, the successful candidate will assist with the collection, processing, analysis, and interpretation of biological and environmental data, while contributing to technical reports, scientific publications, and stakeholder outputs. Responsibilities include supporting marine field surveys, including fish community assessments, benthic habitat monitoring, underwater visual surveys, and environmental sampling. The successful candidate will assist with the deployment and maintenance of environmental monitoring equipment, process biological and environmental samples, maintain accurate field records, and contribute to data management and preliminary statistical analyses. The Junior Research Scientist will also participate in laboratory activities, support field logistics and equipment preparation, contribute to technical reports and scientific publications, and assist with workshops and stakeholder engagement activities as required. Applicants must hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marine Biology, Marine Science, Fisheries Science, Environmental Science, or a closely related discipline.
