About Necmettin Erbakan University
Necmettin Erbakan University was originally established in 2010 as Konya University. In 2012 the university was renamed in honour of Necmettin Erbakan, Turkey’s prime minister from 1996 to 1997.
Necmettin Erbakan University is one of three public universities located in Konya, a city in central Turkey.
The university is organised into 20 faculties, which include the faculty of education, faculty of theology, faculty of agriculture, faculty of law, and the faculty of engineering and architecture. Each faculty offers a range of courses at both undergraduate and graduate level.
There are eight vocational schools within the university, as well as a school of foreign languages and the Turkish Music Conservatory. The university also has four institutes: the Institute of Education Sciences, Institute of Science, Institute of Health Sciences, and the Institute of Social Sciences.
Alongside their studies students are encouraged to participate in internships and work placements to gain an insight into specific fields. The university has developed partnerships with industries across a range of fields to facilitate these internships and to enable academic and scientific exchanges.
