About National Yunlin University of Science and Technology
Basic information and contact details for National Yunlin University of Science and Technology
Also known as YunTech, the National Yunlin University of Science and Technology is one of two universities in Donliu, a city in the Taiwanese province of Yunlin. Founded in 1991, it sells itself as a "model green university". Its 58 hectare campus has 15 acres of recreation space and reuses 85 per cent of its water. Of approximately 10,000 students, around one third are graduates, working across colleges of design, engineering, human and applied science and management as well as 12 research centres. Billing itself as a "flagship technological university", it aims to be a "paradigm for other technological universities". There is a strong emphasis on co-operation with industry, with the Chinese Institute of Engineering rating it on more than one occasion as the top Taiwanese university in this category. It was also rated the top technical university for technological exchange for the 2013 to 2016 period by the Ministry of Education. The business school is accredited by the US Association for the Advancement of Collegiate Business Education (AACSB). Notable research covers a huge range of themes from the traditional to the ultra-modern where a team have developed an app which to enable communication with babies by analysing 200,000 cries from 100 newborns, from antiquarians restoring embroidered artefacts from early 20th Century festivals. A team of graduate students won a $200,000 development grant to develop a 3D adventure game, while electrical engineers found ways to apply acupuncture to the treatment of constipation.

They will also have extensive experience of working with the Office for Students regulatory framework and demonstrable leadership of Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) strategy, submissions, or institution-wide teaching excellence activity. Demonstrable experience of driving through change in a large, complex organisation and an ability to explain and discuss education and student experience activities are also key.
