National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic has a rich history that dates back to 1818 when the Poltava Institute of Noble Girls was established. The institute operated for 100 years before it moved location. In its place the Poltava Institute of Agricultural Construction was founded. In 1961 it was renamed Poltava Civil Engineering Institute and in 1997 it became Yuri Kondratyuk Polytechnic University. The university was granted national status in 2002 by the President of Ukraine. The university has a range of faculties offering undergraduate courses. Students can choose to study various fields including architecture, construction, information technologies, finance, economics and management, and humanities. There is also a Centre of Postgraduate Education, as well as the Poltava Petroleum Exploration College and Myrhorod State Art Industrial College. Recognised as a powerful research and innovation centre, the university provides students with state-of-the-art facilities. Leading international companies have invested in the university’s research development, giving students the opportunity to participate in 3D modelling, robotics, and research projects in fully equipped laboratories. The university encourages students to create their own start-ups and eventually start their own businesses, using the facilities on offer. The university is located in Poltava, a city in central Ukraine. Poltava is situated along the right bank of the Vorskla River. It is known for being one of the greenest cities in Ukraine, boasting a number of large parks and open spaces. The city is considered an important cultural centre as well as being a major transport hub for Eastern Europe.

The role The main purpose of the job is to undertake research and support the delivery of the OSMOSIS research programme as required. OSMOSIS is funded by the National Institute of Health and Care Research. The aim of OSMOSIS is to co-produce resources and toolkits to improve the support available to family/informal carers for a relative affected by psychosis. The OSMOSIS programme comprises three work packages: (i) a service mapping exercise in three local boroughs across East London and East Sussex; (ii) a qualitative study using individual interviews with carers and focus groups with various staff to explore carers’ experiences of accessing social care support; and (iii) co-production and sharing of outputs with associated toolkits to improve and facilitate support for carers. The research programme is jointly led by researchers at the University of Surrey and City St George’s, with further co-investigators based in University of Kent and community organisations. There will be a second Post-Doctoral Research Fellow based at City St George’s, and the two Fellows will work closely for the duration of the research programme. Both postholders will work on all three of the programme’s work packages, taking the lead for their respective areas. Main duties will include establishing and strengthening collaboration with local community carer organisations, carer support workers, conducting desktop and site-based service mapping exercise, qualitative data collection and analysis, and working closely with the PPI Leads in co-producing outputs and associated toolkits to aid implementation. There will be opportunities to contribute to and lead academic papers and presentations at dissemination events. About you Applications are invited from candidates with qualitative and participatory/co-produced research expertise, and experience in conducting community engagement and service mapping. Applicants drawing on personal experiences of caring for a loved one living with mental health challenges in their work will be particularly welcome. The postholder will be based in a team with considerable expertise in providing support and mentoring for researchers working from a lived experience perspective. We welcome applications from people from racially minoritised communities. You will need to be motivated, efficient, have good communication skills, and excellent track record of completing deliverables on time. You will manage the day-to-day running of the work packages and work closely with the rest of the research team and the network of collaborators. Research Fellow in Nanoelectronic Device Fabrication

We are looking to appoint a postdoctoral researcher with experience and expertise in nanoelectronic device fabrication, to be based in the School of Electronics and Computer Science at the University of Southampton as part of the group of Dr Ruomeng Huang (R.Huang@soton.ac.uk). This postdoctoral fellowship is part of the EXPRESS (Exploiting Single Source Precursors for the Electrochemical Growth of Functional 1D and 2D Metal Dichalcogenide Semiconductors) Programme Grant recently announced by the UK Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). EXPRESS is a large (£10M) flagship, interdisciplinary research programme over 5-years. It is led jointly by the Universities of Southampton and Warwick, alongside several international and industrial partners, and brings together internationally leading teams from across chemistry, physics and electronic engineering. It aims to deliver a step-change in the understanding and control of electrochemical growth of high-quality mono/few-layer functional transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs), combining precursor design and synthesis, electrochemistry, solution and surface computation, advanced characterisation and device integration. In addition to the essential disciplinary research skills, candidates should demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for collaborative working, the ability to communicate effectively across disciplines, and well-developed organisational skills. In this role, your primary focus will be the fabrication and optimisation of TMDC-based nanoelectronic devices, including transistors and memristive devices, using electrodeposited TMDC materials developed within the EXPRESS programme. You will design and implement fabrication process flows within a cleanroom environment, including thin film deposition, lithography, mask design and etching, and carry out device and materials characterisation using techniques such as SEM/EDX, XRD, Raman, XPS and electrical (I–V) measurements. The role will involve integration of novel materials into device architectures and development of reliable fabrication protocols. You will work in close collaboration with colleagues across the EXPRESS consortium, including materials synthesis, electrochemistry and theory teams. You will be required to be flexible and interact effectively with colleagues across the wider EXPRESS consortium to fulfil the scientific goals of the Programme. The position is offered for 24 months in the first instance, with the possibility of extension for up to 3 further years.
