Founded in 2005, National University, Sudan (NUSU) is based in Khartoum, Sudan’s capital. NUSU currently offers a range of programmes within the following faculties: medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, medical laboratory science, nursing and midwifery, radiography, physiotherapy, health informatics and administrative science. The latter includes business administration, accounting, marketing and business information systems. Graduates of the faculty of medicine, pharmacy and dentistry are all able to be registered by the Sudan Medical Council, and all accrediting organisations in the United Kingdom, Europe and the United States of America. All teaching at NUSU is conducted in English, and any student requiring language support is identified at the outset and enrolled on English Language provision. On campus, students will find a comprehensive library and impressive sports facilities. There’s a Students Affairs Centre, which aims to help and guide students to achieve their goals, in both their academic and non academic activities. They offer career advice, which provides up-to-date information about the variety of occupations, fields of work, postgraduate courses and research opportunities on offer. The university also has partnerships with other universities worldwide offering students the chance to spend a year studying abroad.

FACULTY OPENINGS AT THE SINGAPORE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY The Centre for Professional Communication (CPC) equips all SIT students with critical communication skills that are essential for academic and professional success. We currently have positions available from Lecturer to Associate Professor. Successful candidates will join the Centre as members of a team of accomplished experts who are passionate about incorporating critical thinking in the teaching of academic and professional communication skills that are transferable to the workplace and vital for professional success. Successful candidates will also be actively involved in embedding the teaching of specific academic writing, speaking and workplace communication skills in content modules across academic years and undergraduate programmes in different disciplines. CPC faculty are expected to develop and update curriculum through applied research in communication in the disciplines. They are also provided with paid leave to undertake consultancy work with industry and/or conduct courses for in-employment learners. We seek collegiate and team-spirited candidates who have corporate people management experience with thought leadership in professional communication and/or corporate training experience in professional communication. Candidates should possess at least a Master’s degree or an earned PhD or equivalent from a reputable university with specialisation related to academic and/or professional communication. Description The Center for Interacting Urban Networks, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Post-Doctoral Associate to support the project LANDMark on research on land economics, in any of the following areas: Measurement of land prices, with a focus on imputation techniques Land value determinants: public infrastructures (transport, health, and education services) Macroeconomic stability and instability in the presence of land as a fixed, non-produced asset Taxation of land wealth as an alternative to the consumption tax and the capital tax The political economy of land and its taxation Land, fixed resources, and political conflict The successful applicant will contribute to the research centered on any of these themes. The qualified candidate will have a Ph.D. in economics or another quantitative field with no more than five years from receipt of the degree, and an appetite for working on interdisciplinary teams. This position requires: Research experience in the mentioned areas of land (in a broad sense, including housing, macroeconomics, labor, urban, spatial economics, political economy, and conflict). Excellent communication skills in English. About LANDMark (Land Assets, National Development and Markets) This project, developed by Etienne Wasmer, professor of Economics and program head in Economics at NYUAD, and funded for the next 6 years (2027-2032), brings together a group of researchers working on land all over the world. A team of 4 postdocs will constitute the project's core. Associations and collaborative research funding projects with researchers in Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, and Political Science are encouraged. The post-doctoral associate will be hosted in the Social Science Division, near the economics faculty, and can be affiliated with CITIES (infra). The post is a busy customer-facing role that is based across two areas- the main reception and the post room. You will be regularly interacting with students, contractors and visitors. There are four other members of the team and you will need to be able to work Monday to Friday between 8am-4pm and 12pm-8pm depending on the rota.
