Vietnamese-German University (VGU) is seeking a highly qualified full-time lecturer in Communication Networks and Systems. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in this field or other closely related fields and have a strong background in research and practice. The successful candidate will become part of an international network of universities and research institutes.

Teaching Responsibilities

In the role of a lecturer, the successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in the Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) program. The expected workload for the in-class lecture conduction is 8 academic hours per week, at least 240 academic hours per year (1 academic hour equals 45 minutes).

Teaching should reflect current research methods and results, and comprises lectures on the following modules:


	Communications Engineering (45 AH)
	Communication Networks (45 AH)
	Mobile Communications (45 AH)
	Digital Routing (45 AH)
	IT Security (60 AH)


The named courses are subject to change on the realistic needs of the programs and joint agreement between the lecturer, relevant Academic Coordinators, and Dean/Vice Dean in charge of teaching. Courses may require conducting relevant laboratory activities and/or advising student projects.

The holder of this job is also responsible for supervising bachelor's and master's theses and mentoring Ph.D. students.

Research Responsibilities

As a faculty member of a research-oriented university, the successful candidate is expected to significantly contribute to the scientific profile of VGU through innovation. This includes and is not limited to comprehensive activities in basic research as well as applied research in the fields of communication networks, wireless communications, Internet of Things (IoT), and 6G mobile systems. The ability to apply and generate externally funded research projects is highly desirable.

Administrative responsibilities

The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the development of the ECE program by participating in administrative, marketing, and other public activities of the program in consultation with Academic Coordinator of the study program and German partner universities. He or she is also expected to contribute actively to the academic self-administration of the Faculty of Engineering and the university by being willing to stand for election to the Faculty Council, Academic Senate, and/or other bodies.

Qualification

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a closely related field, preferably from a well-known international university. Other requirements include:


	An outstanding academic record with a focus on communications engineering, communication networks, mobile communications, computer networks, or other areas closely related to it;
	Knowledge in communication systems, network protocols, wireless networking, and network security.
	Strong track record of successful research activities and publications in international and peer-reviewed journals in the related area
	Proven teaching experience with strong self-motivation combined with a passion for teaching and research
	Experience in industry is of advantage
	Proven excellent English proficiency:


Candidates who are from non-native English-speaking countries should include one of the following valid English proficiency certificates; IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 548(PBT), TOEFL 84 (iBT), TOEFL 212 (CBT), CEFR level B2 or Aptis level C1 at the time of application submission. Alternatively, candidates who do not hold a valid English proficiency certificate at the submission time need to be internally assessed at VGU to meet the criterion stated above.[1]

As Singapore’s University for Industry, SIT works closely with industry partners in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. The primary responsibility of this position is to deliver on a research project to develop an End-to-end misinformation and disinformation protection, awareness and mitigation pipeline. We will be recruiting a research engineers or fellows, as part of a wider project, to conduct research on: Signal processing combined with AI-based modification on speech signals. The need is for a real-time system, so efficient coding is important.

Key Responsibilities:


	Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI) Ian McLoughlin, Co-PI Tong Rong and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met. 
	Undertake research within your domain, including keeping track of state-of-the-art work. Develop the code, evaluate and test. Write academic publications.
	Deliver solution-ready demonstration code.
	Interact well within the team and the customers.
	Be self-directed to fulfil the project requirements.


Job Requirements:


	Competence in working with languages such as C along with AI applications as well as Python-based coding .
	Have a degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering. Possessing a Master’s or PhD degree will definitely be advantageous.
	Knowledge of machine learning, pytorch, huggingface etc...
	Knowledge of speech, audio, time-series or signal processing is required.
	Ability to effectively and efficiently utilise industry-standard Linux-based computers for AI.
	Experience of authoring good quality academic publications.
	Manage undergraduate research assistants (if appropriate).
	Liaise with customers and collaborators in A*STAR and NTU, as well as collaborators in the UK and China.

Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT)

The Vietnamese-German University (VGU) is seeking a highly qualified full-time lecturer in Computer Networks and Security. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in this field or a closely related field and have a strong background in research. Relevant international experience is an advantage. The successful candidate will become part of an international network of universities and research institutes.

Teaching Responsibilities

In the role of a lecturer, the successful candidate will teach graduate courses in the Computer Science (MCS) program and undergraduate courses in the Computer Science (CSE) program. The expected workload for the in-class lecture conduct is 08 academic hours per week, totaling 240 academic hours per year (1 academic hour equals to 45 minutes).

Teaching should reflect current research methods and results, and comprises lectures on two to four modules from the following areas:


	Computer Network - 1
	Computer Network - 2
	Realtime Systems
	IoT and Smart Devices
	IT Security
	Compulsory elective modules


The named courses are subject to change upon realistic needs of the programs and joint agreement between the lecturer, relevant Academic Coordinators, and Dean/Vice Dean in charge of teaching. Courses may require conducting relevant laboratory activities and/or advising student projects.

Research Responsibilities

This includes and is not limited to comprehensive activities in basic research as well as applied research in the fields of defensive architectures, cryptography & authentication, network resilience and emerging topics of computer networks (e.g., edge & fog computing, software-defined networking, AI-native networking). The ability to apply and generate externally funded research projects is highly desirable.

Administrative responsibilities

The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the development of the Computer Science Program by participating in administrative, marketing and other public activities of the program in consultation with the Academic Coordinator of the study program and the German partner university, namely Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences. She or he is also expected to contribute actively to the academic self-administration of the Faculty of Engineering and university by being willing to stand for election to the Faculty Council, Academic Senate and/or other bodies.

Qualification

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field, preferably from a well-known international university. Those in the final stages of their doctoral studies may also be considered, provided they demonstrate exceptional promise. A current title of Professor will be a plus, as experience and understanding of the German higher education system and methodology. Other requirements include:


	An outstanding academic record with a focus on networked systems security, communication networks and protocols, ad-hoc networks, or other areas closely related to it
	Proven expertise in zero trust architecture, security protocols, defensive operations, wireless security, and network architecture
	Strong track record of successful research activities and publications in international and peer-reviewed journals in the related area
	Proven teaching experience with strong self-motivation combined with a passion for teaching and research
	Experience in industry is of advantage
	Proven excellent English proficiency:
