The National University of Science and Technology (NUST) was founded in 1991.
It was launched with 270 students on three courses – communications, industrial technology and applied science.
Now there are schools of engineering, commerce, applied science, medicine, built environment, communications and information science, and scientific and technical education.
Its campus is on a 160 hectare site and is home to the main library and the medical school.
