The mission of the National University of Education (UNAE) is to train teachers who can transform education in Ecuador. It focuses on research-backed pedagogical innovation. The public university is located in Azogues, the capital of Cañar province in the country’s south, which is famous for producing Panama hats. 

UNAE, which was founded in 2013, offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, both face-to-face and online. The university aims to improve education in Ecuador by preparing teachers and researchers in courses that are characterised by scientific rigour, research, innovation and a focus on rights and interculturality.

Undergraduate areas include basic education, initial education, intercultural bilingual education, arts and humanities, special education, experimental sciences and languages. At postgraduate level, master’s degrees and a doctorate are offered in foreign language teaching, intercultural educational practices, educational technology and innovation, youth and adult education, and arts and humanities pedagogy.

Research Technician / Laboratory Manager Position in Hematology Research We are seeking a highly motivated Research Technician / Laboratory Manager to join our collaborative, multidisciplinary research team. Our work focuses on understanding aging-related genetic changes in blood cells and their roles in immunology and cancer development. We integrate large population-level cohort analyses with cutting-edge genome editing and single-cell approaches in cell lines and in patient samples. The research group is led by Mikko Myllymäki, MD, PhD and our research group is located at the Institute for Molecular Medicine Finland (FIMM), University of Helsinki. We are also part of the Translational Immunology Research Program within the Faculty of Medicine.  The successful candidate will join a translational research environment integrating genetics, immunology, cell biology, bioinformatics, and clinical medicine. Key Responsibilities Perform and support routine wet-lab work (such as DNA and RNA based workflows, protein-based workflows, genotyping)  Culture and maintain leukemia cell lines and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs)  Assist with sample logistics for single-cell workflows Coordinate laboratory reagent orders, maintain sample inventories, and take care of documentation  Comprehensive training will be provided for all techniques and responsibilities. The position is full-time and fixed-term for three years, with a possibility for extension. A six-month probationary period will be applied (standard in Finnish university employment contracts).
