The School of Innovation has been newly established by the University to provide interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary education programmes in the area of innovation and technology. The appointee will be responsible for developing and leading educational programmes at the School of Innovation in the areas of design, technology and entrepreneurship. He/She is expected to enrich educational programmes through engagement with industry and community partners, and to enrich student innovation projects through mentoring and partnership.  Additionally, he/she will facilitate technology translation at the School through venture creations and industrial partnerships. Applicants should possess: a Ph.D. degree in Engineering, Science or a related field; at least 10 years of experience working in and contributing to startup ecosystems, including accelerators, incubators, training and mentoring; a proven track record in contributing to the innovation and technology sector, as evidenced by international awards and industry recognition; substantial experience in technology development and translation as evidenced by patents and startup companies; and extensive experience in leading and delivering educational programmes in innovation design and entrepreneurship. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of the gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Job Description As an element of our scientific research activities at the CBS department, we are conducting innovative research on the development of advanced materials for biomass conversion processes. This project focuses on designing and optimizing novel materials that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of converting biomass into valuable products such as biofuels and fine chemicals. We are seeking a highly motivated candidate to contribute to the exploration of new materials and their applications in thermochemical and biochemical conversion processes. Main Responsibilities: Design, synthesize, and characterize advanced materials for biomass conversion. Conduct experiments to evaluate the performance of these materials in various conversion processes. Investigate the mechanisms of biomass conversion and the role of materials in enhancing reaction efficiency.  Analyze products and materials using advanced characterization techniques (e.g., HPLC, GC-MS, SEM, TEM, BET …). Write scientific reports, and research articles, and participate in conferences. Candidate Profile PhD degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Strong background in materials synthesis and characterization. Experience with biomass conversion processes and catalytic systems is highly desirable. Familiarity with advanced analytical techniques will be valued. Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in English. Good publication track record in peer-reviewed journals. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Experience in co-supervision and coordination of graduate students is a plus. About the Chemical & Biochemical Sciences Green Process Engineering (CBS) The Chemical & Biochemical Sciences Green Process Engineering Department (CBS) is an entity of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P). The main objective of CBS is to set up a distinctive research-teaching program of international level, in order to meet the research and teaching challenges of UM6P, in particular on green and environmental chemistry applied to all aspects of chemical sciences: organic and inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, chemical biology, biochemical and thermal reactions. Research at CBS is organized around several major areas, which aim to answer challenging industrial questions, from complex chemical and biochemical reactions to scale-up and validation of process engineering. CBS projects aim at an in-depth understanding of the molecular mechanisms of all transformations in order to propose new original alternatives in terms of efficiency, environmental friendliness and sustainability. Job Description CBS is looking for a post-doctoral fellow specializing in analytical chemistry, in particular the evaluation of trace elements in phosphate value chain. In terms of research, the candidate will reinforce the team of the CBS department. His/her experience and expertise should enable him/her to contribute and pursue research activities on industrial subjects relating to chemical phosphate manufacturing processes. The candidate will also participate in the supervision of internships, projects and practical work related to the above-mentioned scientific fields. He/she will play an active role in the life of the program, organizing seminars, workshops and conferences related to the chemical and Process Engineering stream. The candidate will also be expected to participate in UM6P's collective projects and external missions, and to provide support to students (PhD and Master), i.e., supervision for the writing of reports, dissertations and end-of-study papers. Position Overview: We are seeking a highly qualified Postdoctoral Researcher to join its multidisciplinary research team working at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Metabolomics, and Precision Health. The project aims to leverage AI and machine learning (ML) to analyze complex metabolomics datasets and address key health challenges, including biomarker discovery, disease classification, patient stratification, and personalized therapeutic strategies. The successful candidate will contribute to high-impact research projects focusing on metabolic diseases, cancer, neurodegenerative disorders, and microbiome-related health issues by applying advanced AI/ML techniques for biomarker discovery and metabolic network modeling. Scientific Challenges Addressed in the Position: High-dimensionality and complexity of metabolomics data, requiring advanced AI/ML techniques for robust analysis and interpretation. Integration of multi-omics data (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics) to achieve systems-level insights into disease mechanisms. Identification and validation of clinically relevant metabolic biomarkers for early disease detection, prognosis, and treatment response monitoring. Reconstruction of metabolic networks and pathway analysis to understand disease-specific metabolic reprogramming. Tackling data sparsity, batch effects, and heterogeneity in clinical metabolomics datasets. Developing explainable AI (XAI) models to facilitate clinical decision support systems (CDSS) and enhance trustworthiness in healthcare settings. Addressing longitudinal and time-series data analysis for monitoring disease progression and treatment outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement AI/ML pipelines for feature selection, dimensionality reduction, and predictive modeling using metabolomics data from clinical studies. Apply deep learning models (e.g., autoencoders, variational autoencoders, graph neural networks) for biomarker discovery, disease classification, and patient stratification. Integrate multi-omics datasets to identify metabolic signatures and elucidate pathway-level alterations associated with disease phenotypes. Perform network-based analysis and reconstruction of metabolic pathways to uncover functional mechanisms underlying health and disease. Contribute to the development of personalized medicine strategies, including precision diagnostics and predictive models for treatment response. Collaborate with experimental teams, clinicians, and biostatisticians to validate computational findings in clinical cohorts. Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences. Mentor graduate students and contribute to building capacity in AI and health data science at UM6P. Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field with applications in healthcare and metabolomics. Strong experience in machine learning, deep learning, and AI frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn). Knowledge of metabolomics data analysis, including LC-MS, NMR data preprocessing, normalization, and feature extraction. Familiarity with multi-omics data integration, biomarker discovery workflows, and metabolic pathway enrichment analysis (e.g., KEGG, HMDB, Reactome). Experience with statistical modeling and multivariate analysis techniques (e.g., PLS-DA, PCA, random forest classifiers). Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and experience with bioinformatics pipelines. A proven track record of scientific publications in metabolomics, AI, or computational biology journals. The School of Architecture, Planning and Design (SAP+D) at UM6P fosters interdisciplinary research that bridges architecture, urban studies, and planning, with a focus on African contexts and global challenges. Position Overview SAP+D invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher to contribute to a project exploring the intersection between urban heritage and spatial justice. The postdoc will work within a multidisciplinary research team and contribute to developing new theoretical, historical, and practice-based insights on how heritage preservation and urban development interact in creating (or addressing) spatial inequalities in African and Middle Eastern cities. Key Responsibilities Conduct original research on urban heritage and spatial justice, including case studies in Morocco and other regions of the Global South. Develop conceptual and methodological frameworks that interrogate the politics of heritage, memory, and space.
