National Institute of Technology Srinagar is one of the oldest technical universities in India. It was established in 1960 as the Regional Engineering College, in the Indian Kashmiri capital of Srinagar, and was one of the first eight regional engineering colleges set up by the government of India. The institute shifted to its present campus in 1965 and has since been offering high-quality technical education in various disciplines. The university offers undergraduate programmes through the Joint Entrance Examination, and admits postgraduate students based on scores in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. The institute has 12 academic departments, covering various fields, including engineering, applied sciences, humanities and social sciences. The medium of instruction is English. The campus is located on the western bank of Dal Lake and has modern facilities, including a central library, a campus-wide wifi network and computer labs. National Institute of Technology Srinagar offers a vibrant student life with cultural, technical and sports events organised throughout the year. The institute's annual technical festival, Techvaganza, attracts participants from all over the country, and promotes innovation and technical excellence among students. The university takes part in shaping the future of engineering and technical education in India. Its emphasis on research opportunities and its status as an Institute of National Importance allows students and staff to contribute to the nation's growth and progress in the field of technical education and research.

FACULTY OPENINGS AT THE SINGAPORE INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY The Centre for Professional Communication (CPC) equips all SIT students with critical communication skills that are essential for academic and professional success. We currently have positions available from Lecturer to Associate Professor. Successful candidates will join the Centre as members of a team of accomplished experts who are passionate about incorporating critical thinking in the teaching of academic and professional communication skills that are transferable to the workplace and vital for professional success. Successful candidates will also be actively involved in embedding the teaching of specific academic writing, speaking and workplace communication skills in content modules across academic years and undergraduate programmes in different disciplines. CPC faculty are expected to develop and update curriculum through applied research in communication in the disciplines. They are also provided with paid leave to undertake consultancy work with industry and/or conduct courses for in-employment learners.
