The National Institute of Technology Hamirpur was founded in 1986 with only two departments - civil and electrical engineering. It received university status in 2002 and became the National Institute of Technology Hamirpur. The campus is located in Hamirpur in the Himalayan State of Himachal Pradesh in India. The institute offers undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate programmes in engineering, science, architecture, management and humanities. Student clubs and activities include fine art, drama, English and music. There are annual events for students to take part in including yoga day, cultural festivals, innovation incubators, technical festival and the sports meet.

March Recruitment About the Role We are seeking an experienced, forward-thinking Clinical Tutor (Developmental role) to play a pivotal role in the strategic leadership, delivery, and enhancement of our NHS-commissioned Professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy). This senior post strengthens UEL’s position as a leading provider of postgraduate clinical psychology training and contributes directly to regional workforce development, health innovation, and interdisciplinary research. You will work closely with NHS Trust partners, senior academic colleagues, and external stakeholders to ensure the programme continues to meet the highest professional, clinical, and academic standards. This is an exceptional opportunity for an established clinician-academic who is ready to influence the future of clinical psychology training at scale. Key Responsibilities As Senior Clinical Tutor & Academic Lead, you will: Strategic Leadership & Programme Development Provide senior academic leadership within the DClinPsy programme, contributing to long-term planning, curriculum innovation, and quality enhancement. Lead on key strategic initiatives aligned with UEL’s priorities in health innovation, community engagement, and EDI. Strengthen partnerships with NHS Trusts, professional bodies, and external agencies to support workforce development and training excellence. Clinical Training & Academic Delivery Act as senior tutor for a designated year group, with oversight of trainee progression, wellbeing, and professional development. Lead and deliver advanced teaching across clinical skills, professional development, and specialist modules. Oversee placement planning and monitoring in collaboration with NHS partners, ensuring high-quality training experiences. Provide expert guidance to trainees and supervisors, addressing complex placement issues with professionalism and sensitivity. Research Leadership Supervise doctoral research and contribute to the development of research capacity within the programme. Support the integration of research, clinical practice, and innovation across the curriculum. Quality Assurance & Governance Contribute to programme governance, including assessment boards, validation events, accreditation processes, and external reviews. Essential Criteria Qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology recognised by the BPS as conferring eligibility for Chartered Status. HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist. Significant post-qualification experience within the NHS. Strong understanding of current professional issues in UK clinical psychology and NHS service delivery. Experience teaching, supervising, and assessing at the postgraduate level. Excellent communication, leadership, and report-writing skills. Desirable Criteria Research experience, ideally within NHS or applied clinical settings. Experience supervising doctoral-level research. The successful candidate will spearhead the development of novel oligonucleotide-based therapies targeting metabolic and mitochondrial dysfunction in optic nerve diseases, such as glaucoma and inherited mitochondrial disorders. This position involves advancing candidate RNA therapeutic platforms and integrating them into the Optic Nerve Research Collaborative Australia (ORCA), a national initiative focused on breakthroughs in optic nerve disease research. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of innovation in RNA technology and experience in translating novel platforms into preclinical or clinical programs. An interest in entrepreneurship and commercialization is highly desirable, as the role offers opportunities for involvement in biotech start-ups and spin-off ventures. Based at the Save Sight Institute, Camperdown Campus, within the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney, the candidate is expected to actively contribute to the broader medical research community at USyd, fostering collaboration and mentorship. Transformational Coaching for Employment: Identity Formation Among Indian Youth Join an exciting Leverhulme Trust–funded research project at the University of Southampton exploring how coaching for elite employment shapes the identities, aspirations, and social mobility of young people in India. Situated within the sociology of education, this innovative project focuses on coaching for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examinations—one of the most competitive routes into prestigious public sector careers in India. Drawing on a novel conceptual framework of ‘coached habitus’, the research examines how non-formal education influences youth transitions, identity formation, and the education–employment nexus in contexts of inequality. Adopting a multi-method qualitative design, the study combines ethnographic and visual methods, biographical interviews, and policy analysis. The project aims to generate internationally significant research outputs alongside meaningful policy and public engagement. About the role The Research Fellow will play a central role in delivering this ambitious project. You will take a leading role in qualitative fieldwork and data collection in Delhi, including ethnographic observations, interviews, and visual documentation, and contribute across all stages of research, from design to dissemination. You will work closely with Dr Achala Gupta and will be supported to develop an internationally competitive research profile. The role offers opportunities to co-author publications, lead elements of project outputs, present at major international conferences, and engage with policy stakeholders.
