Assistant Professor in Medical History of Asia-Pacific SoH invites outstanding academics to apply for the position of Assistant Professor in Medical History of Asia-Pacific (tenure-track). The successful candidate should have a proven track record of excellence in teaching, research, and publication. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting cutting-edge research on the history of medicine in Asia or the Pacific. The period of specialization is open and scholars of both Asia and the Pacific are invited to apply. However, a research program taking a transnational/global history approach or linking the Asia and Pacific regions will be an advantage. In addition to developing their own research program, the successful candidate will actively participate in curriculum development, teaching and administrative/leadership duties, at a level that aligns with the expectations of a world-class, research-intensive university. The successful candidate will conduct courses on medical history and their other areas of expertise. The succesful candidate will be expected to: Develop a robust, world-class research agenda and maintain a strong publication record; Secure research funding from competitive grants; Contribute to curriculum development at the undergraduate and graduate levels; Deliver engaging and effective teaching; Mentor and supervise graduate students and/or postdoctoral researchers; Undertake administrative roles at the department and/or institution level. Requirements: A PhD in history or in a related field. Demonstrated excellence in research, evidenced by a strong publication record and a well-developed plan for future research/publications. Demonstrated capacity to contribute to curriculum development and deliver excellent teaching. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Preferable to have success in securing grant funding. Preferable to have a demonstrated capacity to undertake administrative and service roles. Preferable to have a demonstrated capacity to supervise undergraduate and graduate students, research staff, and/or postdocs. Associate / Full Professor of Linguistics, NTU Singapore The School of Humanities at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore, invites applications for three faculty appointments at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor (with tenure) in Linguistics and Multilingual Studies, with preference in Computational Linguistics / Natural Language Processing, Psycholinguistics, and Language Typology. Applicants with demonstrated research experience in Southeast Asian/Asian languages and contexts are especially encouraged to apply. Interest in contributing to NTU’s growing focus on digital humanities and AI-driven language research will be an advantage. Linguistics and Multilingual Studies at NTU Singapore Linguistics and Multilingual Studies within the School of Humanities at NTU Singapore offers a vibrant and interdisciplinary environment for the study of language in its structural, social, cognitive, and technological dimensions. We are internationally recognized for our research on multilingualism, language diversity, and the interface between linguistics and digital technology. Our focus is on multilingualism in an Asian/Southeast Asian context, with our research organized around four interconnected pillars: Multilingualism in a Natural Laboratory – Exploring language contact, code-switching, language maintenance, and the dynamics of linguistic diversity in one of the world’s most naturally multilingual societies. Linguistic Description and Typology in Southeast Asia and Beyond – Documenting, analyzing, and revitalizing the region’s rich linguistic heritage and contributing to global typological theory. Language, Technology, and AI – Advancing interdisciplinary work at the intersection of linguistics, natural language processing, and data science, including research on large language models (LLMs) Discourse, Interaction, and Meaning-Making – Investigating how meaning is co-constructed across languages, cultures, and communicative modalities through integrative, appliable approaches to discourse and interaction.
