About Namangan State Pedagogical Institute

Basic information and contact details for Namangan State Pedagogical Institute

Namangan State Pedagogical Institute is a public higher education institution located in Namangan, in Uzbekistan’s northeastern Fergana Valley.

It was formally established as an independent pedagogical institution in June 2022 to elevate the quality of teacher education and further develop education science and practice in the region. However, the university’s history dates back to 1942 when it functioned as a branch of Andijan Teachers’ Institute before becoming independent in 1944 and retaining prominence until its transformation in 1992 into Namangan State University.

Situated in the city of Namangan, which serves nearly three million inhabitants, the institute plays a key role in regional education and development.

Academically the institute includes a dedicated Future Teacher Centre, an Information Resource Centre, an IT lab, and a recording studio, all designed to support pedagogical training and professional innovation. Largely focussing on education faculties, it offers programmes in pedagogy and psychology, preschool and primary education, fine arts, music education, physical culture and sports training, cultural management, and social work.

The university currently educates between 20,000 and 25,000 students offering bachelor's, master’s, and doctoral degrees in line with state education standards. Admission is selective, based on national entrance examination, although international students are also eligible to enrol.

Internationally, the institute has developed partnerships with other higher education institutions across the globe, including a cooperation agreement with Parul University and an academic exchange protocol with Turkey’s Ondokuz Mayıs University, initiatives aimed at creating joint research, and enriching student and cultural engagement.
