The Nagoya University of Economics is part of Nagoya University, located in Nagoya, Japan.

It consists of two departments - the department of economics and the department of business administration and offers both undergraduate and a graduate programme in economics. The undergraduate programme is four years long.

The graduate student's programme consists of two courses. The first is the master's course which usually requires two years of study. The second is the doctor's course which usually takes about three years after completing a master's course.

The university has special academic programmes to develop joint research work and facilitate the exchanges of staff and students based on agreements with a couple of universities. These universities are Freiburg University in Germany and the University of California in the USA.

The central library has a collection of one million volumes that can be freely used by all students. Additionally the economics library is considered one of the best departmental libraries in terms of the quality and quantity of reading material as well as the reading environment.

There is also an Economic Research Center which conducts research into how the global economy is formed between businesses, industries and regions with a particular focus on Asia. The centre was established in 2006.

There are a small number of international students from 17 countries at the university. Classes are mostly conducted in Japanese, so students need to be able to demonstrate a good grasp of the Japanese language. There are Japanese language courses available at the Foreign Study Centre, for those students who like to improve their language skills.
