Reporting directly to the Vice-Chancellor, the Vice-President (Corporate Services) is responsible for leading a diverse and high-impact portfolio that includes Finance, Digital Services, Campus Environments, and the University Project Management Office. You will lead a team of senior executives, including the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Information Officer, Director of Campus Environments, and Director of the University Project Management Office and work collaboratively across the institution to ensure that ECU's corporate services enable academic excellence, operational performance, and long-term financial sustainability. This is a role for a strategic and transformational leader who is energised by complexity and motivated by impact. You will be responsible for shaping institutional strategy as a member of the University's Executive Leadership Team, driving enterprise-wide digital transformation and cyber security maturity, overseeing major capital works and sustainability initiatives, and embedding a scalable, customer-focused corporate services model across the university. You will also lead significant organisational and operational change, ensuring integration across portfolio functions and alignment to ECU's strategic priorities, while maintaining robust governance, risk, and compliance frameworks. The successful candidate will bring significant senior leadership experience from large, complex organisations, ideally with exposure to higher education, government, or other regulated environments. You will have a strong track record in financial strategy and resource allocation, alongside demonstrated experience leading digital transformation, enterprise systems, or major infrastructure programs at scale. Your ability to lead through change, build trusted partnerships with executive peers and governing bodies, and develop high-performing teams will be essential to your success in this role. This role is ideal for an experienced near‑coastal seafarer who enjoys mentoring others and is ready to transition ashore into education. As a practice‑based facilitator of learning, you will support students to develop the skills, confidence and professionalism needed to succeed in the maritime industry. You will deliver theory and hands‑on training across deck, engineering and safety subjects, using a mix of classroom learning, simulators, live plant and vessel environments. The role includes curriculum and assessment development, marking and moderation, and contributing to continuous improvement in teaching delivery. While based in Launceston, this role involves regular teaching across AMC campuses, with opportunities for field trips, industry engagement and occasional interstate travel. Relocation may be available for the ideal candidate.  What you’ll do: Safely co-ordinate and conduct lectures, tutorials, practical classes, workshops, field excursions and assessments in both in-person and online environments, prioritising positive student experience. Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills. A strong record of relevant sea service. Qualifications and Licences: An Australian issued Marine Engine Driver Grade 1 near coastal certificate of competency (CoC) or higher CoC, and relevant sea service. A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or the ability and willingness to obtain within six months of commencement), and experience in vocational education and training (VET) teaching and assessment.  A current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People registration (or the ability and willingness to obtain before commencement). A current Australian C class driver licence. Salary details Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level A and will have a total remuneration package of up to $125,877 comprising base salary within the range of $83,198 to $107,587 plus 17% superannuation.
