Description The Division of Science at New York University Abu Dhabi is looking to recruit a post-doctoral associate, starting Fall 2026 to work under the supervision of Prof. Pierre Youssef on subjects including (in no particular order): Random Matrix Theory Free Probability Functional and concentration inequalities Mixing times of Markov chains While excellent candidates with other research interest may be considered, a priority will be given to those able to relate to one or several of the above topics. The probability group at New York University Abu Dhabi is rapidly growing with a weekly seminar in place. The research interests of the other faculty as well as the organized activities can be found on the Abu Dhabi Stochastics Group page. (pro-rata) Location: Larrakia – Darwin View Position Description Flinders Rural and Remote Health NT At Flinders Rural and Remote Health NT, our aim is to be a hub for innovative health research, education, and workforce development across the Northern Territory. We engage with students, community, and stakeholders to provide critical programs, such as the Northern Territory Medical Program, Paramedicine, Rural Clinical School, and the University Department of Rural Health. Our postgraduate education pathways (Remote Health Practice program), provides workforce development through Indigenous health and clinical skills training, and we have a community driven research program led by researchers committed to improving health outcomes. We work alongside Poche SA+NT focussing on Indigenous leadership capacity development and developing the Indigenous health workforce. All activities are driven by our values which focus on the long-term and short-term needs of the NT community. About the Role This senior academic position provides visionary research leadership to advance health workforce capability in remote and isolated communities, with a strong focus on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health. The Professor will lead culturally safe, community‑driven research in partnership with Elders and local leaders, strengthening collaborations, attracting significant external research income, and establishing an emerging research program on an international scale. The role also guides staff, HDR students, and early‑career researchers, contributing to strategic research planning and capacity building across the College of Medicine and Public Health. Lead a distinguished program of culturally safe, community‑initiated research to improve health service capability and develop a resilient workforce in the Torres Strait and other isolated communities. Build strong partnerships with Elders, community leaders, government and external organisations, strengthening local, national and international research collaborations. Drive strategic research planning, secure substantial competitive research funding, and elevate the program’s international research profile. Provide high‑level leadership, mentoring and supervision to HDR students and early‑ and mid‑career researchers, fostering excellence across the College’s research community. Job Description DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS Research Assistant Professor (25260668) Responsibilities: The Department is recruiting a scholar at the rank of Research Assistant Professor in the areas of multiple scattering waves and acoustic, optical forces to support the on-going development of relevant research areas within the department and the university. Requirements: Applicants should have worked at a university or research institute on a full-time basis for not less than 1 year. They should also have (i) a relevant PhD degree; (ii) strong commitment to excellence in research and mentoring/teaching; and (iii) outstanding accomplishments and research potential in the related area. The candidates with relevant postdoctoral research experiences will be considered with priority. The applicants are expected to have experience and publication records in two or more of following research areas: Multiple scattering of waves Acoustic or optical force The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract up to two years commencing May 2026. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and funding availability.
