About the Role As we kick-start the 2026 academic year in our brand new iconic, state of the art Healthcare Simulation Laboratories located in the convenient Adelaide CBD, we are looking for a Senior Technical Officer (Team Leader) to lead a team of passionate technical officers. In this role, will lead the day-to-day operations of the Clinical Skills and Simulation Laboratories, ensuring the smooth delivery of simulation-based learning across programs. You will also have the opportunity to coordinate team activities, allocate workloads, and work collaboratively with other Team Leaders and the Senior Manager – Healthcare Simulation across campuses to manage staffing, rostering, stock control and operational needs. The Senior Technical Officer (Team Leader) will also be responsible for planning and preparing laboratory environments for clinical simulation workshops in line with course requirements, working closely with academic staff, and laboratory teams. The role will provide expert technical support, including demonstrating simulation equipment, procedures, and techniques to ensure safe and effective learning experiences for students. The role also involves overseeing the quality and readiness of clinical laboratory setups, maintaining a strong student-centred focus which makes a significant contribution to the University’s strategic plan to changing 10 million lives, Every One Matters, by 2035 and aligns to Strategic Driver of Students First. During intensives, the incumbent will be expected to work a variety of shifts within a set roster, ranging from 7:30am – 3:30pm, 8:00am – 4pm and 12:30 – 8:30pm, with the occasional shift ending at 10:00pm. About You You contribute effectively within a team environment and step into a functional supervisory role when required. You communicate confidently and professionally, with strong interpersonal and oral communication skills that enable you to provide clear information and advice to a diverse range of staff and give practical guidance to students. Your written communication skills are equally strong, allowing you to prepare clear correspondence and respond to enquiries independently and with sound judgement. You are highly organised and capable of planning and managing complex workflows, meeting strict deadlines, and balancing competing priorities - particularly during high-demand or peak periods. You will also be able to demonstrate the following: Qualification in Nursing / Midwifery / Health Science / Physiotherapy / Occupational Therapy or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education and training relevant to the position. Proven knowledge and experience in clinical health care settings encompassing all levels of patient acuity. Experience with clinical teaching and assessment set up, including knowledge of and familiarity with equipment used for clinical teaching purposes. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to apply these skills to topic administration, rostering and timetabling. The Role and Department The Senior Research Contracts Manager will provide expert leadership in the negotiation, drafting and management of research agreements, ensuring that the University's interests are protected while enabling high quality research activity to proceed efficiently. Acting as a senior point of escalation for complex or high risk contractual matters, the post holder will offer authoritative advice on contractual terms, governance requirements and compliance obligations across a diverse range of funders and partners. The role will involve drafting and negotiating a wide variety of research agreements, including collaboration agreements, contract research agreements, framework agreements, subcontracts, sub awards and studentships, working with a broad range of UK and international sponsors and collaborators. The post holder will also contribute to the smooth running of the research contract's function, including co ordinating the development of standard agreements and supporting the design and implementation of robust internal contracting processes and workflows, ensuring continuous enhancement of research contracting across the institution.
