Founding and Establishment

Established in 2016 by Royal Decree of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU) serves as Dubai’s academic gateway to excellence in medical and health professions education, research, and innovation.

In 2021, Law No. (13) established the Emirate’s first integrated academic health system. Since then, MBRU has led the learning and discovery missions of Dubai Health, positioning the University at the heart of a unified academic and clinical ecosystem. Academic Programs and Achievements

MBRU offers 23 accredited undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs across three colleges: the Hamdan Bin Mohammed College of Dental Medicine, the College of Medicine, and the Hind Bint Maktoum College of Nursing and Midwifery. In addition, the University delivers more than 40 residency, fellowship, and internship programs through the Deanship of Graduate Medical Education. All programs are accredited by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and benchmarked against leading international standards. MBRU has developed a growing portfolio of clinical and academic partnerships with leading regional and international institutions. Its academic partnership with Queen’s University Belfast, one of the United Kingdom’s foremost research-intensive universities, has spanned more than a decade. Complementing this, a ten-year clinical partnership with Mediclinic Middle East has provided students with structured access to a leading private hospital network in the UAE.
