The successful candidate will report to the Placement Officer, working as part of the e Placement team to support accredited placement at Maynooth University. The Placement Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of high quality accredited placement programmes. This is a complex and diverse workload which includes, supporting students in their preparation, securing and effectively managing their placement experience; sourcing placement opportunities and coordinating employer engagement, liaising with academic departments and managing day-to-day placement administration. The role ensures smooth processes, accurate records, and high quality service across the placement lifecycle. To be successful in this role, you will be a strong communicator, good team player, highly organised, have a systematic approach to problem solving and have a proven track record in adaptability. Department of Psychological Medicine | Te Tari Whakaora Hinengaro Tangata Faculty of Medicine - Dunedin | Te Kaupeka Whaiora and Health New Zealand / Te Whatu Ora - Southern (Health New Zealand - Southern) In pursuit of excellence, the Faculty of Medicine - Dunedin, in association with Health New Zealand - Southern, seeks to appoint a Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in Psychological Medicine. The position provides an excellent opportunity for a clinical academic to establish themselves in one of the leading medical schools in Australasia. The appointee will provide leadership in teaching and research in the field of psychological medicine while supporting an effective and efficient inpatient and outpatient service for psychiatry patients in the Otago and Southland regions. There are research opportunities for wider collaboration with other researchers in the University’s well-regarded medical and medical science departments such as the Departments of Anatomy, Pathology and Public Health. In addition to holding the position of Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor at the University of Otago, the appointee will concurrently hold a position as Consultant Psychiatrist at Health New Zealand - Southern. This is a joint University/Hospital position and will be held as a single contract with the University of Otago. The two separate roles equal the equivalent of one full-time position. Academic Component (0.5 FTE) The successful applicant will be based in the Department of Psychological Medicine, Faculty of Medicine - Dunedin, and appointed to the position of Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor dependent on academic achievement, skills, and experience. The appointee will have academic qualifications and prior experience in teaching and research and will be responsible for teaching at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. There will be significant opportunity for laboratory and clinically based research. Clinical Component (0.5 FTE) Health New Zealand - Southern has the largest geographical coverage of all the New Zealand regions, providing services to 350,000 people in diverse communities. The successful applicant will participate in a shared roster and an after-hours on-call roster; clinical duties and patient care will form 50% of weekly duties. Alongside an enthusiastic group of colleagues, the appointee will provide support for the outpatient psychiatry clinics. Additional payment is made for clinical duties outside of regular hours, in negotiation with Health New Zealand - Southern. The successful candidate will have specialist qualifications in Psychiatry and must be eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
