Based at the Canberra Clinical School, this role sits within the broader Clinical Skills curriculum and plays a key part in shaping the early clinical training of medical students. Job Purpose The Professional Officers Division (POD) houses a centralized pool of academic staff under the Professional Officers scheme. Professional Officers come with specialised and deep technical skills acquired through extensive industry experience. They form the talent pool which brings a much-needed industry perspective to student learning. They facilitate applied learning and applied research in SIT, complementing the academic expertise of the faculty to bring industry practices and applications into the curriculum. Professional Officers leverage on their industry experiences to create authentic learning environments, where discovery and innovation take place. They act as coaches and mentors to students during practical learning activities such as laboratory sessions, Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Professional Officers could also lead or work with faculty on industry innovation projects to provide solutions to the industry. In addition to their role in applied learning and applied research, Professional Officers manage the centralised laboratory facilities and resources in SIT. With Technical Officers, laboratory safety professionals, and administrators in POD, they jointly develop central policies and processes for the safe and seamless operation of laboratories in SIT. Key Responsibilities Design and teach labs & practice modules. Mentor students in Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Lead or co-lead innovation projects with industry. Manage labs and equipment to support academic programmes and applied research. Ensure safety in labs Job Requirements A Master’s degree in Radiography or related field. Possessing a PhD will be an added advantage. Deep technical specialist with 10 or more years of working experience in the acute / community / other clinical rehabilitation setting. Possess clinical experience and competence in Radiography. Having expertise in general radiography or other area of specialization (e.g., MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Angiography and Fluoroscopy) is preferred. Knowledge and experience in working with simulated healthcare institution and community environment and educational manikins will be advantageous. Extensive experience and knowledge of industry practices to bring industry perspective to SIT. Keen interest in innovation projects, with demonstrated ability in developing solutions to technical problems. Strong supervisory skills and enjoy working closely with students in an educational environment. Demonstrate proficiency to keep abreast of development in the field and pursue professional certification programs. Possess industrial certifications in relevant areas will be an added advantage.

We are seeking a research fellow to play a central role in the recently awarded Australian Research Council funded project “Better childcare policy: parental labour supply and provider responses” (DP260101621). Working closely with Chief Investigator Professor Robert Breunig, this role will include driving and delivering on an ambitious research agenda. The fellow will work with domestic and international collaborators to undertake analysis, present and publish findings in leading peer-reviewed journals as well as actively support TTPI initiatives. This may include teaching in TTPI’s executive education programs, PhD student supervision, contributing to TTPI tax and transfer fact sheets, policy briefs and major reports, while also partnering with governments, academics, business and the community to produce, synthesise and share research insights. Our ideal candidate will have a PhD in Economics or a related field and a strong publication record. You will be fully proficient in Stata and/or R. You will be an expert in Australian Administrative and Survey Data and Australian Public Policy, have a strong understanding of the Tax and Transfer System, and be committed to continual improvements in both.
