Mindanao State University at Naawan

Mindanao State University at Naawan is a public higher education institution in the Philippines and an autonomous campus of the Mindanao State University system. It was officially established in 1973, although its history dates back to 1964 when it began as a field laboratory of the MSU College of Fisheries. 

Originally created to support research and training in aquaculture, the campus developed through scientific initiatives into a specialised institution focused on fisheries and marine sciences. 

The university is located in the municipality of Naawan in the province of Misamis Oriental, on the northern coast of Mindanao. Positioned near coastal and marine ecosystems, the campus benefits from direct access to natural environments that support its research and teaching activities. The surrounding region is known for its marine biodiversity and plays an important role in the Philippines’ fisheries sector, providing students with opportunities for fieldwork, community engagement, and applied environmental studies within a coastal setting.

There are four colleges within the university: College of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, College of Environment and Life Sciences, College of Business and Information Technology, and the College of Education and Social Sciences. Within each college are different departments, offering a range of both undergraduate and graduate degree programmes.
