Position Summary Illinois Institute of Technology invites applications for Associate Professor and Professor level teaching-track faculty positions for its Mumbai campus. These positions will primarily focus on delivering high-quality undergraduate instruction for the BS programs in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence, student mentorship, and curriculum development. Senior faculty will also contribute to academic leadership, program development, and mentoring of junior faculty, helping establish a strong academic foundation for Illinois Tech’s Mumbai campus. Courses will be delivered in person in Mumbai, India, and online teaching is not an option. Key Responsibilities Teach undergraduate courses in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Deliver foundational and core courses including: Object-Oriented Programming Data Structures Discrete Structures Computer Organization Introduction to Machine Learning Contribute to curriculum development and course design Mentor and advise undergraduate students Participate in departmental, college, and campus service activities Provide academic leadership and mentorship to junior faculty Support the development and growth of Illinois Tech Mumbai academic programs Special consideration will be given to candidates with experience or interest in: Object-Oriented Programming Data Structures Discrete Structures Computer Organization Machine Learning Applicants must have: A minimum of an M.S. The role We are seeking to appoint a motivated and rigorous professional, who will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the MicroStructures Study Unit (MSSU) Laboratory. The post holder will participate in the experimental research activities of staff and students and will communicate effectively with different lab users. The job involves the preparation of test samples using conventional and rapid prototyping techniques, undertaking testing using advanced testing protocols, as well as installing arrangements specific for different testing configurations. The postholder will be required to support experimental projects at all academic levels, as circumstances dictate and as requested by their line manager. They will be responsible for maintaining the testing equipment in excellent working conditions and for the professional upkeep of the laboratory spaces. They will work closely with other technical staff to ensure the safe and efficient running of laboratories, and to showcase the experimental activities of Mechanical Engineering Sciences in relation to student applicants and external sponsors/clients. About you The post holder will maintain the MSSU Laboratory and set up and run laboratory tests. They will have good communication and IT skills. A qualification in Materials Engineering, or similar discipline, is desirable. Some relevant work experience in the above fields related to optical or electron would be an advantage. Credit-bearing Chinese content modules for degree students majoring in Teaching Chinese as an International Language and China Studies, i.e. Modern Chinese or Classical Chinese.
