You should have experience as a registered nurse with at least five years in a clinical setting. For appointments at Level A or B, evidence of developing or established teaching capability is expected, along with a willingness to contribute to unit delivery and ongoing development of teaching practice. For appointments at Level C or D, demonstrated strong teaching capability, along with experience in unit coordination and flexible course delivery, is required. Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills are essential. You should also demonstrate a commitment to high-quality education, the ability to collaborate across disciplines, and a willingness to contribute to student support and broader university activities. About the School The School of Health within the Faculty of Medicine and Health delivers a comprehensive suite of undergraduate, postgraduate coursework, and research programs, including Community Services, Social Work, Counselling, Mental Health, Public Health (One Health), and Health Management. For this industry funded project fixed term until 31st January 2027, you will be responsible for organising and coordinating the collection of high-quality, synchronous, multi-camera video data across multiple exclusive real-world environments (capture volumes). Each capture volume requires a minimum of 16 cameras, and you will collect multiple participants completing a variety of activities of daily living (e.g., walk, jog, run, jump, hop, skip). You will work with Dr’s Rich Foster and Karl Gibbon to collect, process, and share the data that is collected with our industry partners. Description We are seeking Post-Doctoral Associates who are passionate about Data Science, with an emphasis in Computational Social Science, with a starting date of September 1, 2026. Some of the possible research topics include: (i) social media analysis, (ii) collaboration and teamwork, (iii) gender inequality, (iv) diversity, (v) online controlled experiments, and (vi) network science. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and hard-working with a PhD in Data Science, Computational Social Science, Computer Science, or Information Science, with no more than five years post receipt of the PhD. The position requires experience with at least one of the following: Data Science, Machine Learning, Computational Social Science, Big Data. Relevant skills could include statistical analysis, data management and collection, causal inference, network analysis, graph theory, visualizations, and online tool development. Experience in conducting online controlled experiments is also desired, but not required. Excellent communication skills in English, ability to work in multidisciplinary teams, and scientific creativity are essential. Selected candidates will spend half their time on collaborative research with Bedoor AlShebli, an Assistant Professor in Computational Social Science in the Social Science Division at NYUAD, and half their time on independent research. The selected candidate will receive an appointment for three years. The position provides salary higher than internationally competitive rates for Post-Doctoral / Research Engineering / Research Associate positions, in addition to substantial benefits (generous housing, transportation and travel allowances, educational subsidies for children), together with full health insurance and retirement contributions.
