Your personal sphere of play: The research group of Prof. Dr. Ina Bergheim, Molecular Nutritional Science, Department of Nutritional Sciences at the University of Vienna, is looking for support in human studies focusing on the interaction of nutrition, metabolic liver disease and immune responses. We are an interdisciplinary research team working at the interfaces between nutrition and the development of metabolic diseases as well as healthy aging. We build on a good working atmosphere, close collaboration with our students, self-dependent involvement, and coordination of research projects. Your future tasks: You will be responsible for the conceptualization, co-coordination and co-supervision of studies focusing on the effect of nutrition on the gut-liver axis with a particular emphasis on TLR signaling pathways and immune responses, in humans and cell culture models. Participation in paper writing and publication, independent teaching, as defined by the collective agreement, is expected. Furthermore, you will be expected to supervise students, participate in evaluation measures and quality assurance, and be involved in the department administration, as well as teaching and research administration. About RoboPrecinct@PDD SmartPrecinct@PDD initiative aims to develop a precinct-scale robotics and embodied AI ecosystem at Punggol Digital District (PDD). The programme establishes shared digital infrastructure, regulatory frameworks (including cybersecurity and safety), embodied AI capabilities, industry collaborations, and real-world test-bedding environments to enable safe and scaled deployment of robots in PDD. The Business Development Manager will drive industry engagement and partnership development to attract companies to participate in robotics test-bedding and applied research collaborations. Key Responsibilities Industry engagement and partnership development Identify and engage robotics companies, technology providers, startups, and research partners to participate in the SmartPrecinct@PDD programme. Work closely with technical teams to identify industry use cases aligned with the SmartPrecinct infrastructure and capabilities. Support the development of joint projects between SIT and industry partners; prepare collaboration contracts/agreements and support the onboarding process for companies joining the SmartPrecinct ecosystem. Support reporting and documentation of industry partnerships and collaboration outcomes. Marketing and outreach Develop branding and marketing initiatives to promote SmartPrecinct and create industry outreach opportunities. Organise industry engagement activities such as workshops, industry forums, and networking events. Requirements Minimum Bachelor’s degree in engineering, robotics, AI, cybersecurity, business, or other related fields. Ideally 5+ years of relevant experience in business development, innovation partnerships, or technology ecosystem development. Strong networking and relationship-building capabilities. Experience working with government programmes or public-sector innovation initiatives is advantageous. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Description The Mubadala Arabian Center for Climate and Environmental Sciences (Mubadala ACCESS) at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) invites applications for a Post-Doctoral Associate to join an exciting multidisciplinary research program investigating the environmental and ecological drivers of productive fishing grounds in the United Arab Emirates. Working in collaboration with Emirates Nature–WWF and government partners, the successful candidate will lead the spatial ecology, habitat mapping, and environmental data integration components of a major applied research initiative that will directly inform fisheries management, marine conservation, and habitat restoration across the UAE. The successful candidate will lead the spatial ecology and habitat mapping components of the project by integrating environmental monitoring data, fisheries information, habitat datasets, and field observations to identify the ecological drivers of productive fishing grounds. Responsibilities include developing habitat characterization workflows using combinations of bathymetric datasets, side-scan sonar, remotely sensed imagery, GIS, and other spatial datasets to produce habitat maps, ecological indicators, habitat suitability assessments, and spatial decision-support products. The Post-Doctoral Associate will collaborate closely with project staff to design field campaigns, develop sampling strategies, participate in marine field surveys, and ensure the effective integration of environmental, biological, and spatial datasets. The successful candidate will establish robust data management and quality assurance workflows while preparing scientific manuscripts, technical reports, maps, visualizations, and presentations for project partners and government stakeholders. Additional responsibilities include engaging with Emirates Nature–WWF, government agencies, and other stakeholders to communicate research findings and support the translation of science into management and policy outcomes. The successful candidate will also contribute to the broader research activities of Mubadala ACCESS through mentoring junior researchers and students, participating in proposal development, and contributing to peer-reviewed publications. Applicants must hold a PhD in Marine Science, Marine Ecology, Oceanography, Environmental Science, Geography, Spatial Ecology, or a closely related discipline. With no more than five years post receipt of PhD. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience conducting independent marine spatial analyses and developing habitat maps using marine datasets. Applicants should possess strong analytical skills and experience with spatial modelling and statistical software such as R, Python, or MATLAB. Experience using GIS, side-scan sonar, multibeam bathymetry, underwater imagery, remote sensing, and other marine habitat mapping technologies is highly desirable. Candidates should have experience integrating biological, environmental, and spatial datasets and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong publication record in marine ecology, habitat mapping, fisheries ecology, or environmental science. Experience conducting marine field surveys, including SCUBA certification, and familiarity with environmental monitoring equipment such as CTDs, multiparameter sondes, or environmental sensor networks are required.
