About Gift City Deakin is the first University in the world to open an international teaching campus in India. As a Lecturer, you will: Lead unit teaching teams and work collaboratively with other unit teaching teams in the course to develop effective unit curricula and learning resources (including through unit leadership roles). Assist in applying industry, clinical and/or research practice into student learning experiences, success, engagement and resources. Adopt innovation in curriculum design at the unit level and deliver learner-centric, research-informed teaching practices across different levels / modes of delivery. Maintain deep discipline knowledge which is applied to inform unit design. Develop effective assessment tasks and rubrics at unit level. Provide clear assessment criteria and timely feedback to learners to demonstrate learning outcomes. Support, and may lead, applications for research and creative activities. Build a reputation, based on a growing, focused body of work recognised for quality, excellence and impact and a growing track record of timely delivery of outcomes for industry partners. To be successful, you’ll have: PhD in Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a closely related discipline Excellent record of scholarly learning and teaching in UG and/or PG programs, including innovative curriculum design Emerging reputation in research and scholarship with evidence of an emerging program of research, peer-reviewed publications in leading journals, and a pipeline of research-in-progress which is targeting high-quality journals such as the FT50 list, ABDC A* journals, AIS Basket journals and the UTD journal list Experience in at least two of the following areas of research specialisation within the Department: information systems; business analytics; business analytics and decision-making; machine learning; digital innovation, transformation and disruption; digitally-enabled globalisation; digital entrepreneurship; IT and business value; digital health; artificial intelligence and the future of work Experience in at least three of the following areas of teaching focus within the Department: business analytics; information systems; artificial intelligence for business; digital transformation; machine learning; data science; cyber security; enterprise systems; project management Experience in working in multi-disciplinary research projects Ability to make an impact and contribute to community engagement for research and teaching. Job Description SCHOOL OF BUSINESS DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT, MARKETING AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS Senior Lecturer / Lecturer I / Lecturer II (Information Systems) (25260706) The Department of Management, Marketing and Information Systems invites dynamic and experienced professionals to apply for a position at the rank of Senior Lecturer or Lecturer I/II within our Information Systems and Business Intelligence team. We are seeking individuals with strong technical expertise and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching. The successful candidate will contribute to our growing programmes through innovative instruction, curriculum development, and enhancing students’ technical capabilities. Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality teaching and student engagement at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels; Develop and teach courses in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Large Language Models, E-Business, Data Management, Management Information Systems, and Python programming; and Contribute to curriculum development and innovation in the field of the application of AI in business. Your personal sphere of play: The Isotope physics group operates the Vienna Environmental Research Accelerator (VERA), an internationally well-established facility for accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS). A particular strength of VERA is the capability to perform state-of-the-art measurements all across the nuclear chart. Extending the AMS method to isotopes previously impossible to measure with a 3MV-accelerator is an important research activity. The VERAcore facility provides easy access to the state-of-the-art technology available at VERA to address highly demanding interdisciplinary research questions. The goal is to utilise VERA for AMS in a collaborative manner i) within the University of Vienna, ii) for Austrian customers and iii) beyond in international partnerships. Preference will be given to candidates with a special focus on scientific support for sample selection and preparation, AMS analysis and the interpretation of radioisotope data. The position is initially limited to four years, with the option of a permanent contract subject to a positive evaluation of the University of Vienna Core Facility “VERAcore” in the fourth year.
