As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on an industry funded research project where you will be part of the research team to develop advanced Nuclear Quadrupole Resonance (NQR) scanning technologies. Job Responsibilities Participate in research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met. Undertake these responsibilities in the project: i. Conduct comprehensive literature review on NQR technology, including design approaches, scanning methods, signal processing techniques, and comparison with alternative detection technologies. ii. Support design and development of NQR prototype, including system architecture, component selection, and experimental setup. iii. Conduct lab and site tests to evaluate the performance of NQR prototype. iv. Generate design documents and test documents at every stage of development until the final prototype. Coordinate procurement and liaison with vendors/suppliers. Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations. Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment. Job Requirements Has a bachelor’s degree in Electronics; Specialization in RF/Microwave or Digital Signal Processing (DSP) is preferred. Has solid knowledge of electronics, including circuit design, PCB layout, and hardware troubleshooting. Has relevant competence in the areas of Radio Frequency design and measurement; Familiarity with high-power amplifier systems is a plus. Has relevant experience in the areas of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) design and implementation is a plus. Experience in electromagnetic simulation using CST Studio Suite and circuit simulation with PSpice, LTspice, or equivalent is an advantage. Experience with developing software for instrument control and data acquisition using LabVIEW is helpful. Key Competencies Strong experimental skills and theoretical knowledge in electronic circuits, and RF or DSP design, with the ability to apply hands-on prototyping and system development. Able to build and maintain strong working relationships with people within and external to the university. About RoboPrecinct@PDD SmartPrecinct@PDD initiative aims to develop a precinct-scale robotics and embodied AI ecosystem at Punggol Digital District (PDD). The programme establishes shared digital infrastructure, regulatory frameworks (including cybersecurity and safety), embodied AI capabilities, industry collaborations, and real-world test-bedding environments to enable safe and scaled deployment of robots in PDD. The Programme Manager will lead the Programme Office and support the strategic planning, development, coordination, and governance of the SmartPrecinct@PDD programme. Key Responsibilities Programme management Reporting to the Lead PI of the SmartPrecinct@PDD programme, the Senior Programme Manager will oversee the overall execution and progress monitoring across multiple work packages in the programme. Coordinate multi-disciplinary activities to ensure alignment of technical development, infrastructure deployment, and regulatory initiatives. Support the principal investigators (PIs) to conduct technical integration between work packages where applicable. Track programme milestones, deliverables, budget, and reporting to the grantor and institution leadership. Supervise other Programme Office staff and coordinate administrative support functions. Stakeholder and governance management Lead engagement with government agencies and other stakeholders to develop governance frameworks for robot operations in PDD. Coordinate development of policies and agreements related to robot certification, data sharing, safety compliance, and cybersecurity standards. Ideally 10+ years of relevant experience in programme management, technology development, or public-sector innovation initiatives, with strong technical background in related fields. Experience managing large multi-stakeholder projects involving government agencies, industry partners, and research institutions. Strong strategic thinking and stakeholder engagement capabilities. Proven ability to manage complex programmes involving multiple technical teams and deliverables. Key Responsibilities Applicants are invited for a Research Engineer in low pressure membrane system (LPMS). Reporting to the Project Principal Investigator (PI), you will assist in all administration matters including overseeing, planning, forecasting, budgeting as well as ensuring the smooth running of the daily operations for the project Assists in co-supervision of final year projects (FYP) or capstone projects students or student helpers under the Project PI. The Role and the Department Senior Project Manager (Research Professional Futures) The Senior Project Manager (Research Professional Futures) will lead and coordinate the delivery of the Research Professional Futures (RPF) project, funded by the Research England Development Fund (£4.5m). The postholder will manage all aspects of the project from inception to completion, ensuring delivery of strategic objectives. This includes oversight of resources, budget, people, and partnerships. Responsibilities will include; Lead the operational delivery of the RPF project, including development and implementation of the project initiation document and delivery plan, ensuring alignment with the project outcomes, delivery of milestones, risks and mitigations and funder expectations. Manage project governance, including coordination of the Commission, governance bodies, and reporting structures. Manage delivery of work packages including research, pilot interventions, competency framework development, and digital platform implementation. Provide robust financial management, procuring services and goods in line with financial regulations, liaising with post award finance to manage any budget variance and reporting to the project board and funding body. The base location for this role is Boldon House, our exciting new professional services hub. Boldon House is situated on the outskirts of Durham near the Arnison Centre in Pity Me. There will be requirements at times to travel within the UK to attend meetings with the project leadership and delivery teams, and for wider sessions such National Commission meetings.
