We are seeking an innovative and analytically minded Access and Participation Data Engineer to play a key role in shaping how we understand and evaluate student success and participation across the institution. This is an exciting opportunity to design and develop a new institutional system for recording, tracking, and evaluating participation in Access and Participation Plan interventions. Working at the intersection of data, analytics, and student success, you will help generate meaningful insights that inform strategic decision-making and improve outcomes for students. We are looking for someone with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, experience of working with complex datasets, statistical analysis and data visualisation. Experience in impact evaluation, or educational data analytics would be highly beneficial. You should be confident working collaboratively across teams and motivated by the opportunity to use data to support student success and equity. You will have excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills and can work effectively across teams. You will work collaboratively with colleagues across Strategic Planning, Registry, IT, academic departments, and professional services to develop analytical models, impact measures, and user-friendly dashboards that bring complex data to life. FIMM is currently seeking a new member to the FinnGen research project’s admin team with the position of Project Manager FinnGen is a public-private research project that aims to better understand disease mechanisms by studying the genome and health data of 500,000 Finns. FinnGen's Partners include Finnish biobanks, Biobank Cooperative FINBB, university hospital districts, universities, Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL), Finnish Red Cross Blood Service, Business Finland and 15 international pharmaceutical companies. The Project Manager works in the FinnGen admin team and as a close working partner of FinnGen's Scientific Director, Professor Aarno Palotie. In addition to FinnGen-related responsibilities, the role may also involve supporting other research projects and strategic initiatives within FIMM. The responsibilities of the Project Manager include financial and administrative tasks, such as preparing budgets, monitoring project-related budgets and expenses, and presenting financial information to the project’s Steering Committee. The role also involves overseeing project-related procurement and contract preparation in collaboration with the University of Helsinki administrative and legal teams, managing and coordinating the administrative team, negotiating with existing and potential new partners, and participating in contract negotiations. In addition, the Project Manager may be required to give research-related presentations at national and international scientific meetings. The position requires understanding of finance and economic incentives, including, taxation rules and experience working with both government funding and private-sector funding, is considered a strong advantage. Advanced experience with SAP and Excel is considered beneficial.
