Your Responsibility The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to research team in conducting academic research and essential support functions, including literature searches, drafting proposals, translation, conducting surveys, performing analyses and tests, and drafting manuscripts/reports. To take the lead on, plan, develop, and conduct individual and/or collaborative research in the area of material chemistry (e.g., corrosion inhibitor, coatings, batteries, supercapacitors, etc) and regularly disseminate and explain research findings through publication in reputable peer-reviewed journal outlets (on a sustained basis), conferences, and other appropriate media To identify opportunities and assist in writing bids for research grant applications. Prepare proposals and applications to both external and/or internal bodies for funding, contractual, or accreditation purposes. To build active relationships and collaboration with internal and external industries/companies, to jointly initiate/execute research projects, and to advance the research activities of the group. To participate in the supervision of Master's and Doctoral students. To manage and ensure the safety of the working laboratory space and environment. To participate in training and staff development events as trainer or trainee as appropriate. To maintain appropriate professional development, expertise and awareness. To undertake other tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be required. About You Candidates must have a PhD degree in a relevant engineering discipline, preferable in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Environmental Engineering. Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and Chinese, and high analytical ability to analyse and illuminate data, interpret reports, evaluate and criticise texts, and bring new insights are necessary. Evidence of sufficient breadth or depth of research methodologies and techniques to work in the research area of chemistry and chemical engineering are also essential. Central to this work is the creation of a culturally safe, Indigenous led medical curriculum that meets national accreditation expectations and delivers meaningful impact for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities. As the Lead in First Nations Health, you will provide senior academic leadership in the design, delivery and evaluation of First Nations health curriculum and assessment. Reporting to the Dean, School of Health, this is a foundational appointment and the first Indigenous academic role supporting the medical program.
