Description The Division of Engineering at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) invites applications for a fully funded Post-doctoral Associate position in integrated photonics and optoelectronic device development. The successful candidate will contribute to research on silicon photonics and optoelectronic devices based, with applications in optical communications, sensing, and photonic computing. Experience in silicon photonics is required, while expertise in plasmonics, nanophotonics, and 2D materials is a plus. The candidate will join a multidisciplinary team and have access to state-of-the-art facilities for photonic device design, fabrication, and characterization. Responsibilities: Electrical and optical modeling, design tap-out, and fabrication of high-speed SiPh components Set up experiments and perform optical and electrical characterization. Design silicon photonics AI accelerators Publish research results in high-impact journals Contribute to research proposals and help mentor graduate and undergraduate students Applicants should have a Ph.D. in science or engineering, with less than five years post receiving their degree.
