INFRASTRUCTURE

World-class infrastructure and learning resources are a major strength of LPU for creating a conducive learning environment and ensuring holistic development of students.

ICT enabled Classrooms and seminar halls make teaching more engaging. 400+ well-equipped laboratories, Film/TV/sound studios including specialized labs like Aerodynamics, Molecular Biology & Tissue Culture, VLSI Design, Genetic & Bioprocess Engineering, CAD-CAM Microstructural Studies, Centre for Space Research, Material Characterization-Molecular Spectroscopy among others facilities available. University has Automated library system including a central library and 10 discipline libraries having rich collection of over 20 lakh books and 30 thousand journals. IT infrastructure include Tier-III data-centre with 50+ high-end servers, 70+ km fibre-optic, 5 GBPS internet bandwidth, 1800+ wi-fi access-points, media centre, recording facility, Lecture Capturing System etc. Deployment of Security personnel done along with fire-brigade, fire-safety team, security cameras, provide round-the clock surveillance to ensure safety.

Indoor and outdoor sports facilities are available for students including Olympic-size all-weather indoor swimming pool with separate warm-up and diving pool, shooting range, badminton, squash, volleyball, basketball, lawn-tennis courts, indoor/open gyms and facilities for softball, hockey, football, cricket, athletics, rugby, archery, handball, roller skating and combat sports etc. A World-class infrastructure for conducting events include 3 piazza, multipurpose Unipolis paved exhibition space, Auditorium, Amphitheatre etc., in addition to dedicated block and trainers for training in cultural and co-curricular activities.

RESEARCH

Research and Innovation are central to the mission of the University. SPORTS & CULTURAL ACTIVITIES

LPU nurtures various team from the field of sports, dance, music, fine arts, and literature in National and International Championships and also provides training to its students who are keen in such fields. Thirteen students from the University were selected as a part of the Indian contingent to represent the country at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 and twelve of these students brought glory to us by winning 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 2 Bronze medals. Also, LPU students brought laurels by winning 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 2 Bronze at Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022. Student success stories stand tall as our students have won Dadasaheb Phalke Award, Award from Hon’ble President of India for social service, Student Oscar in the field of cinematography, have worked in the movie ‘Dangal’ also. LPU students have established Guinness World Record for largest Bhangra Dance performance and have also been enlisting themselves as the part of Republic Day Parade, Rajpath (New Delhi) on almost every year.

The Department of Geography at Durham University seeks to appoint an Assistant Professor in Physical Geography who has expertise in the field of Earth Observation. We seek someone who will complement and extend our current work in one or more of our research clusters (Hazards and Surface Change; Catchments and Rivers; Sea Level, Ice Sheets and Climate), but we particularly welcome applications from candidates who apply Earth observation approaches to outstanding problems in the fields of mountain environments, geohazards, geomorphology and catchments and river science. The successful candidate will develop world class scholarship in their field. They will have completed a PhD in a relevant field, have a track record of internationally excellent and agenda setting publications and demonstrate a track record of, or potential for, securing external funding. They will have experience of, or show a commitment to, delivering excellent teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and Master's-level teaching. In addition to their research, the successful candidate will contribute to the department through administrative roles commensurate with their grade. It is an in-person role based on our Stag Hill campus. The post involves providing a full range of administrative support to the Head of Disability and Neuroinclusion Operations and the D&N team. Please note: current University of Surrey students are not eligible for this role. D&N is the university’s support service for students. We provide a huge range of assistance for students with a diverse range of disabilities, including autism, ADHD, mental health conditions, and Specific Learning Differences. About you Customer service and appropriate sensitivity is all-important as the post is the first point of contact for disabled students and applicants. Expectations associated with the post include being highly organised and having the ability to support the team in the development, organisation, promotion and evaluation of various activities.
