Your key responsibilities will be to: work on an ARC DP project aiming to develop of hybrid asymptotic methods based on exponential asymptotics and computational complex analysis apply these methods to applied nonlinear problems arising from water wave theory and nonlinear optics conduct research either independently or as part of a team contribute to journal publications and other academic outputs produce software implementations of the algorithms developed in this project. Job Description DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS Part-time Lecturer (25260604) Responsibilities: The appointee is expected to teach the Year 2 course “Mathematical Method” in our UG programme Green Energy and Smart Technology (GEST) in the Semester 1 of the academic year 2026-27. The course will cover the basics of Functions, Calculus, Series expansion of real and complex functions, Fourier series and transform, and Ordinary differential equations.  Requirements: Applicants should have a PhD degree in physics, mathematics or related disciplines, preferably with two to three years of teaching experience.  The initial appointment will be offered on a part-time basis commencing August 2026. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to performance review and course availability.
