The selected candidate will also contribute to Qatar University’s mission of achieving distinction in higher education. Key Responsibilities 1. Curriculum development, Teaching and Educational Activities Develop and deliver the undergraduate didactic, practical/clinical, and research components of the orthodontic curriculum, ensuring alignment with national and international standards for advanced education in orthodontics, as well as institutional policies. Design and coordinate courses, including learning outcomes, syllabi, competencies, and assessment tools, in alignment with Qatar University guidelines and academic requirements Deliver high-quality teaching in orthodontics across pre-clinical, clinical, and didactic courses. Supervise and mentor undergraduate students, including participation in case-based learning, competency assessments, OSCEs and research projects. Contribute to curriculum development and the continuous enhancement of academic programs through effective course coordination, assessment design, and participation in accreditation-related activities. Participate in academic advising and conduct formative and summative evaluations, including remediation and progression decisions in accordance with program policies. Contribute to accreditation-related activities and participate in the implementation of continuous quality improvement strategies. 2. Clinical Responsibilities Provide clinical supervision and ensure adherence to best evidence-based practice standards compassionately and professionally. Contribute to fostering an environment that promotes both high-quality patient care and excellent student learning. 3. Research & Scholarship Conduct high-quality research in orthodontics (clinical, translational, or basic science) and publish in high-impact and peer-reviewed journals. Supervise undergraduate student research projects and contribute to collaborative, interdisciplinary research initiatives. 4. Service and Leadership Engage in College and University service, including committees, student advising, professional development activities and community outreach as needed. Support accreditation processes, quality assurance activities, and strategic initiatives. Qualifications A BDS/DDS/DMD (or equivalent) from a recognised/accredited university. We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to work on the ‘Data Stories: Telling Stories About and With Planning and Property Data’ project funded through an ERC Advanced Investigator award to Professor Rob Kitchin. The postdoctoral researcher will undertake a comprehensive data audit of the data terrain of housing, property and planning in Northern Ireland, conduct interviews with key stakeholders with respect to selected aspects of this terrain, and compare the findings to a data audit and interviews already undertaken in the Republic of Ireland. For selected topics, such as the planning and development pipeline, a data audit and comparison will be undertaken with respect two additional countries. The successful candidate will have experience of sourcing and handling administrative datasets, be able to compile a data directory, compare datasets and evaluate data quality, and be able to conduct interviews and analyse the transcripts. They will have domain knowledge relating to Human Geography, Urban Studies, Planning, GIScience, Critical Data Studies, or related disciplines. The posts will be for 12 months, with an anticipated commencement of 1st July 2026.
