The University is looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences (FHMS) as a Senior Impact Officer, supporting our university ambition to translate high quality research to real world impact and societal benefit. In this role, you will be based within the FHMS Faculty Research and Innovation Office (FRIO) on our Manor Park campus. You will play a key part in the preparing our route to success for REF 2029 in addition to our ongoing Impact activities. You will work closely with our academics, researchers and professional services colleagues, building strong relationships and really getting to know our research. The role Our Senior Impact Officers play a proactive role in facilitating and coordinating impact activity, being the first point of contact and galvanising the network of impact support across the university and beyond. In the role, you will confidently use your strong interpersonal and communication skills to stimulate discussion and share best practice around routes to impact and real world benefit. You will support the generation of impact case studies for future research assessment exercises and external audiences. You will have the opportunity to work alongside a broad range of academics and other research users to capture, evaluate and communicate research impact, allowing us to better understand and navigate the complexities of how research can impact end users in a whole range of fields. You’ll have the freedom and autonomy to take a proactive approach to problem solving using your initiative, experience, and judgement whilst being supported within the Research, Innovation and Impact directorate by your counterparts and colleagues. About you To be successful in the role, you’ll need strong interpersonal and communication skills combined with excellent project/organisational skills. Ideally, you will be familiar with, or will have experience working in, a research or knowledge exchange environment. You will also have an understanding of impact within the higher education sector. This role will work closely with our academics, so you will need to be able to understand complex and specialised information and be able to communicate this to non-specialists. Visibility and communication and delivery are key to the success of this role. You will enjoy working autonomously and will relish the opportunity to really make your mark on our impact outcomes at the University. Description The Mathematics Program in the Science Division, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a post-doctoral associate to work on one or more of the following topics: Mathematical Physics, Spectral Theory, Quantum Chaos, Large Graphs and Quantum Walks. Related areas such as Quantum Information can also be considered. This position is offered through the research funds of Mostafa Sabri. The Mathematics Program at NYUAD is quickly expanding, the candidate will find many international experts and postdocs with whom to interact. Weekly seminars are in place across the various research areas represented at NYUAD. The successful applicant will also receive a mobility credit to participate in conferences. Applicants must have a PhD in Mathematics, with a strong background in one of the advertised topics, as well as an excellent academic record. Candidates with PhDs in Physics or Computer Science may also be considered if they willing to collaborate with mathematicians on these topics. For consideration, applicants need to submit a cover letter, a curriculum vitae with a full publication list, a research statement, a transcript, and at least two letters of reference, all in PDF format. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed twice. In the first interview, the candidate will give a talk summarizing earlier research. The second interview will be to discuss a research project in collaboration with Mostafa Sabri around the aforementioned topics. Candidates are advised to reflect upon such collaborations and include them in the research statement before applying. The duration of the postdoc is for 2 years, with a probation period of 6 months. Essential Academic and/or industrial experience in design and managing digital supply chain solutioning and supply chain management. Having a background and interest in one or more fields of digital supply chain, including but not limited to digital supply chain transformation, digital manufacturing, E-procurement, E-commerce, E-logistics. Experience and knowledgeable in one or more areas of supply chain operations management, risk management and operations research, such as demand forecasting, inventory control, procurement, manufacturing, distribution, warehouse and transportation simulation, optimization and management. Motivated to develop and to teach curriculum in supply chain sustainability. Strong demonstration of interest to develop supply chain security, supply chain digital twin, and artificial intelligence solutions through applied research projects. Desirable Good knowledge in digital supply chain-related technologies such as AI, LLMs, Cyber Security, IoT, 3D printing, automation, supply chain security, digital twins, and block chains. Hands on experience in commercial digital supply chain solutioning projects with both hardware and software elements. Experience in digital supply chain related projects with strong integration of the three pillars, i.e., Digitalization, Resilience and Agility, and Green Supply Chain. Preferred to having a PhD in a related technical area. Led or involved in strong industry - academia partnership projects.
