Larbi Tebessi University, located in Tebessa, Algeria, was founded as a university in 2009. Its establishment followed years of effort by the university community, starting in 1985 when it was created as the National Institutes of Higher Education, specialising in earth sciences, civil engineering and mining. The university's development continued in 1992, when it became Sheikh Larbi Tebessi University Center, named after a renowned scholar and native of Tebessa. In 2006, the institution underwent a restructuring of administrative services, institutes and departments. It was officially promoted to the rank of university by the president of the Republic, during the opening ceremony of the 2008-09 academic year. Larbi Tebessi University offers a diverse range of academic programmes across six faculties: literature and languages, science and technology, exact sciences and natural and life sciences, law and political sciences, human and social sciences, economic sciences, business sciences, and management sciences. Additionally, students can pursue specialised studies in two institute: the mining institute and the institute of sciences and technics for sport and physical activities. Larbi Tebessi University welcomes students from around the world. The university provides support to international students throughout their studies, ensuring comfortable conditions and facilitating their registration procedures. The university's Directorate of University Social Services takes care of accommodation, feeding, transport and other essential services for foreign students. Additionally, the university offers various platforms for managing and monitoring international students, alongside important links to resources and organisations related to higher education and research. There are diverse range of scientific and cultural clubs for students to participate in. The clubs include "Sanhouri" for law and political science, "Abu Khalwa Jamal" for exact sciences and natural and life sciences, "Hassan Fathi" for arts and architecture, "Al-Khwarizmi" for science and technology, "Al Biruni mines", "Abu Nasr Muhammad Al-Frabi" for social sciences and humanities, "Malik Bin Nabi" for literature and languages, as well as clubs dedicated to painting and fine arts, and audiovisual activities.

Full time, 3 years fixed term, located on the Camperdown Campus at the School of Physics Opportunity to contribute to research focused on fast radio bursts and long-period radio transients using the ASKAP and MeerKAT radio telescopes Base Salary, level A/B $113,400 - $151,328 p.a + 17% superannuation About the opportunity The School of Physics is currently seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate/Fellow in Radio Astronomy to join the radio transients group working on fast radio bursts and long-period radio transients with Dr. Manisha Caleb. The successful candidate will contribute to an ARC-funded Discovery Project investigating the origins and evolution of transient radio sources using data from the Australian SKA Pathfinder and MeerKAT radio facilities. The role offers opportunities to develop search algorithms, undertake multi-wavelength follow-up studies, and contribute to high-impact discoveries in time-domain astrophysics. The successful candidate will also collaborate closely with Prof. Adam Deller, Prof. Jarrod Hurley at Swinburne University of Technology and Prof. Ben Stappers at The University of Manchester. Your key responsibilities will be to: undertake research on fast radio bursts and long-period transients develop and implement data analysis and transient search pipelines for large radio astronomy datasets from ASKAP and MeerKAT assist with commissioning the CRACO transient search backend at the ASKAP radio telescope aid in the supervision of undergraduate and/or postgraduate students present the group's work at international and national meetings About you The University values courage and creativity; openness and engagement; inclusion and diversity; and respect and integrity. As such, we see the importance of recruiting talent aligned to these values and are looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate/Fellow in Radio Astronomy who has: Essential: a PhD in astronomy and astrophysics or a closely related discipline research experience in radio astronomy imaging and time-domain astrophysics, including fast radio bursts, long-period radio transients, pulsars, or neutron stars experience working with large datasets, high-performance computing, and/or signal processing techniques expertise in scientific programming and data analysis using Python or similar languages a strong publication record relative to career stage and the ability to work effectively in collaborative research teams demonstrated ability to present research results at conferences, workshops, and research institutions for appointment at level B: demonstrated ability to independently plan, lead, execute and publish high impact papers over a sustained period since the conclusion of the PhD. Desirable: experience in multi-wavelength data analyses for appointment at level B: experience contributing to student supervision and the development of early-career researchers. The Department of Mechanical Engineering offers B.Eng., M.Sc., M.Phil. and Ph.D. degree programmes. The University of Hong Kong has a highly ranked engineering school and an active Mechanical Engineering Programme. The Department employs about 35 full-time faculty members and has well-equipped teaching and research facilities and support. The research environment is vibrant. Frontier research efforts are promoted and conducted in strategic areas related to this post, including but not limited to micro/nanofabrication, electronic/photonic materials and devices, advanced manufacturing, electrochemical engineering, micro/nano mechanics, and intelligent robotic systems. Advanced microelectronics plays a critical role in driving innovation and technological advancements across various industries and is the foundation of today’s interconnected world. We are particularly interested in candidates who have expertise in advanced micro/nanofabrication processes, such as nanolithography, advanced thin film deposition and etching, etc.; 3D integrated circuits, such as heterogeneous integration, high-density interconnects, wafer bonding, thermal management, etc.; advanced packaging technologies, such as system-in-package, flip-chip packaging, etc. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in a related engineering field, with an excellent research record. Candidates with industry experience or strong connections to the industry are preferred.
