About Lancaster Bible College

Opened in 1933, LBC is a biblical college in the southern Pennsylvania town for which it is named. The college offers both liberal arts and theological subjects, and Christian worship and teaching are at the core of student life and study.

Courses at LBC are split into seven separate departments; Arts & Sciences, Bible & Theology, Church & Ministry Leadership, Counselling & Social Work, Education, Health, and Worship & Performing Arts. Available as both a major and a minor is Teaching English, which equips students for teaching the language to students who are either college age or adult.

The study abroad partner institution of LBC is the Saints Bible Institute, based in San Lorenzo, Italy. Here students can learn about Italian culture and ministry, while simultaneously being able to earn college Bible credits. LBC also has an articulation agreement with Jerusalem University College in Israel.

Playing as the Chargers at intercollegiate level are six men’s sports, including baseball and soccer, and seven women’s, including lacrosse and softball. Outside of varsity competition there is an active intramural sports programme, an Ultimate Frisbee Organisation and a Fellowship of Christian Athletes for those who wish to combine sport with their faith.

A highlight of the Lancaster town community is the Trust Performing Arts Centre, which showcases music and theatre, and hosts free live entertainment on the first and third Fridays of every month.

Upon graduation students traditionally receive a towel along with their diploma, a symbol of foot washing and a reminder to alumni to that their talent and education may be best used in the service of others.
