Founded in 1977, Lagos State University of Science and Technology (formerly known as Lagos State Polytechnic) is a government-owned tertiary institution located in Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria.
Originally established as Lagos State College of Science and Technology, the institution commenced classes in January 1978 at a temporary site with five departments: accountancy, business administration, banking and finance, marketing, and insurance. 
The institution was renamed Lagos State Polytechnic in 1986 and gained university status in 2022 following the signing of a new bill by Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.
The university is now organised across five colleges. Students can choose from programmes in agriculture, engineering, environmental design and technology, basic sciences, and applied social sciences.

Preference will be given to those with higher academic qualifications and clinical teaching experience. They should have strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills; the ability to work independently and as a team; and the capacity to work under pressure and multitask. Those who are qualified as Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) will be offered the title of Advanced Practice Nurse.

The appointees will report to the Chairman of the Teaching and Learning Committee. They will be responsible for teaching, conducting tutorials, and providing practical and clinical supervision in Nursing. They may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours. Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee will be responsible for the research and implementation of a large-scale mental health and well-being project for primary schools in Hong Kong under the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences. Major tasks include:


	Devising and designing research studies and evaluation frameworks.
	Implementing research activities and programme evaluation.
	Collecting and analysing data.
	Preparing technical research reports.
	Coordinating a team of research staff and interns.
	Performing administrative tasks supporting the research-cum-intervention project.
	Any other duties as assigned.


Requirements

The appointee should possess:


	A Ph.D. or MPhil degree in Psychology, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
	A good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
	Strong research skills in Psychology or Social Sciences.
	Proficiency in advanced statistical software (e.g., R, Stata, or Python), as well as MS Excel and Chinese typing.
	Experience in the implementation of community or educational research projects will be an advantage.
	Proven ability to supervise junior researchers and research assistants.
	Demonstrated leadership in managing and coordinating a research team to achieve project objectives.


What We Offer

The appointment will commence in September 2026, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary for Assistant Research Officer and 15% for Research Officer, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
