The position is to be filled either at tenured Associate Professor, or Full Professor level of the Aalto University tenure track system. The level is chosen based on the selected candidate. The position is full-time and permanent. We seek candidates who have demonstrated excellence and whose research plans are within experimental quantum physics at low temperatures. We consider candidates with research focus on solid-state quantum materials or transport, or on superconducting circuits. We seek a research profile that complements or extends the current efforts at the Department. The candidates should aim at finding novel fundamental phenomena as well as functionalities possibly leading to applications in quantum, information, or other technologies. The appointed professors will be closely connected with the OtaNano national infrastructure which includes: cleanroom facilities of Micronova, Nanomicroscopy Centre and Low Temperature Laboratory, and the equipment at the Department of Applied Physics. Description The Political Science Program in the Division of Social Science is inviting applications for a Lecturer position. The successful candidate will oversee the capstone seminar sequence for senior undergraduate students enrolled in the Program’s International Affairs and Foreign Policy (IAFP) concentration, offer IAFP-designated classes, and assist the Head of Undergraduate Affairs in advising students. The capstone project is one of the culminating experiences for students at NYU Abu Dhabi. Every student will conduct capstone work in their fourth year, a year-long endeavor aiming at a significant piece of work appropriate to the IAFP concentration. The lecturer will train students in their capstone to demonstrate knowledge of key concepts and analytical methods in IAFP, including one or more of the following topics: conflict and cooperation dynamics, strategic interactions of states, international organizations, and non-state actors across domains such as war, terrorism, trade, development, finance, environment, and human rights.
