Founded in 1925 as the Kyrgyz Institute of Education, Kyrgyz National University named after Jusup Balasagyn is Kyrgyzstan’s oldest and largest higher education institution. It evolved through stages including the Kyrgyz State Pedagogical Institute in 1932 and Kyrgyz State University in 1951, adopting its current name in 2002 in honour of the medieval scholar Jusup Balasagyn.

The university is located in Bishkek and offers numerous faculties covering medicine, law, economics, languages, natural and social sciences, and technology. Since 2023, its Faculty of Medicine has partnered with Yenepoya University in India to provide a six-year MD programme recognised by international medical boards including USMLE, UKMLE, NMC and ECFMG.

The university follows the Bologna Process and offers undergraduate, postgraduate and vocational courses on campus and via remote learning. 

It publishes the peer-reviewed scientific journal Vestnik KNU, recognised by Kyrgyz and Russian scientific authorities.

The university’s Scientific Library, one of the largest in Kyrgyzstan, was established in 1932 and has expanded significantly, now occupying eight educational buildings and staffed by 60 employees.

About the Role This is an exciting opportunity for you to contribute to research on a project supporting the move of aviation towards zero emissions, as part of a team within the Centre for Aeronautics, Propulsion and Power, and specifically the Rolls-Royce UTC in Aero Systems Design, Integration and Performance. This role will contribute to the development of various systems used in propulsion architectures. You will be working in test facility design, computational fluid dynamic modelling, and assessment of thermo-fluid systems for aviation, focusing on icing in aircraft fuel systems. Job Description The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to the development of Earth Observation and spatial analytics approaches applied to the analysis and monitoring of urban environmental systems. The research will integrate geomatics, remote sensing, environmental geosciences, and artificial intelligence methods to investigate soil conditions, land-use dynamics, environmental processes, and urban ecosystem functioning. This work aligns with the strategy of the Center for Urban Systems (CUS), which aims to promote sustainable, resilient, and data-driven urban development in Morocco and across Africa. The research will support the understanding and management of environmental challenges in urban areas, including land degradation, soil sealing, environmental risks, and the impacts of climate change on urban landscapes.   Main Responsibilities •    Develop Earth Observation based methodologies for monitoring urban environments, including soil conditions, land-use change, and environmental dynamics. •    Design and implement spatial analytics and geospatial modeling approaches to analyze urban environmental processes. •    Apply machine learning and geospatial data analysis techniques to large Earth Observation datasets. •    Produce high-quality scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals and present research results at international conferences. •    Contribute to interdisciplinary research projects within the CUS related to urban sustainability, environmental monitoring, and urban resilience. Key Duties •    Develop spatial analysis tools and geospatial models for monitoring urban environmental indicators. •    Integrate multi-source Earth Observation data (satellite imagery, environmental datasets, geospatial databases) for urban analysis. •    Collaborate with academic partners, public institutions, and urban stakeholders to support sustainable urban planning strategies. •    Contribute to the preparation of research proposals and respond to national and international research funding calls. •    Prepare scientific articles, technical reports, and policy-oriented documents to disseminate research findings. About the Role As we kick-start the 2026 academic year in our brand new iconic, state of the art Healthcare Simulation Laboratories located in the convenient Adelaide CBD, we have multiple exciting and continuing Technical Officer positions available. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with a healthcare background such as in Nursing, Midwifery, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech Pathology, and who is passionate about supporting students a real-life simulation environment. The role is based in a modern clinical skills simulation lab, essential for delivering practical workshops and ensures the lab is prepared according to course needs and supports teaching by providing technical advice, equipment demonstrations, and procedural guidance. Responsibilities also include maintaining equipment, managing stock control, and ensuring compliance with safety policies. The role requires liaising with the Senior Manager, Healthcare Simulation, and broader team. Additional duties include stepping in for the Team Leader or Laboratory Manager when needed, training staff on simulation equipment, resolving IT and AV issues promptly, and maintaining accurate records of simulation software, licences, and equipment updates to ensure optimal functionality and minimal disruption to learning. During intensives, the incumbent will be expected to work a variety of shifts within a set roster, ranging from 7:30am – 3:30pm, 8:00am – 4pm and 12:30 – 8:30pm, with the occasional shift ending at 10:00pm.
