Kurdistan Technical Institute (KTI) is a private higher education institution operating under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Kurdistan Regional Government. 

The institute is located in Sulaymaniyah, a city in the east of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

KTI provides two-year technical diploma programmes across a range of subject areas such as information technology, computer science, business administration, accounting, decoration engineering (interior design), digital media, medical laboratory technology, nursing, pharmacy, and petroleum drilling and refining. Each programme combines classroom instruction with applied training, ensuring graduates are prepared for employment opportunities in both public and private sectors.

The curriculum places particular emphasis on hands-on learning, including practical workshops and industry-linked training, especially within applied sciences and health-related disciplines. 

The Information Technology department, established in 2015, integrates both academic coursework and industrial training requirements, reflecting the institute’s commitment to balancing theory with real-world application.

The Department of Geography at Durham University seeks to appoint an Assistant Professor in Physical Geography who has expertise in the field of Earth Observation. We seek someone who will complement and extend our current work in one or more of our research clusters (Hazards and Surface Change; Catchments and Rivers; Sea Level, Ice Sheets and Climate), but we particularly welcome applications from candidates who apply Earth observation approaches to outstanding problems in the fields of mountain environments, geohazards, geomorphology and catchments and river science. The successful candidate will develop world class scholarship in their field. They will have completed a PhD in a relevant field, have a track record of internationally excellent and agenda setting publications and demonstrate a track record of, or potential for, securing external funding. They will have experience of, or show a commitment to, delivering excellent teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and Master's-level teaching. In addition to their research, the successful candidate will contribute to the department through administrative roles commensurate with their grade. Provide scientific leadership in the design, execution, and analysis of real-world evidence (RWE) studies. Oversee the development and validation of the common data model and the data integration platform for use in healthcare research. Ensure analytical methodologies are robust, reproducible, and compliant with relevant regulatory guidelines. Lead the exploration and application of innovative analytical approaches. Manage a team of data scientists and business intelligence (BI) professionals, fostering a culture of scientific excellence and continuous methodological improvement. Collaborate with the Data Scientist (AI) to integrate advanced AI/ML techniques into the RWE generation pipeline.  Requirements PhD degree in Epidemiology, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Informatics or related disciplines. Preferably minimum 5 years’ experience in epidemiology, data management, programming and statistics at supervisory level. Proficiency in SQL, Python/R, or similar tools; experience with big data platforms , machine learning, and data warehousing. Commitment to quality, integrity, confidentiality and compliance. Excellent leadership, organizational, project management and problem-solving skills. Strong interpersonal, communication and stakeholders’ management skills.
