Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Condensed Matter Physics. Experience in numerical techniques and analytical field-theoretical approaches is desirable. Applicants who are in the process of completing a Ph.D. degree will also be considered. The appointee will work with Prof. Zi Yang Meng to conduct research on computational and theoretical condensed matter physics. Areas of research include diagrammatic calculations, quantum Monte Carlo methods, density matrix renormalization group and tensor network states, and artificial intelligence and neural networks, with a particular focus on applying these numerical approaches to quantum many-body systems, such as correlated 2D materials, quantum Moire systems, frustrated magnets, topological order, quantum phase transitions beyond Landau-Ginzburg-Wilson paradigms, etc. The recent works of Prof. Meng and the group can be found at https://quantummc.xyz/publication. We are seeking a results-oriented and self-driven Strategic Collaboration Lead who will be responsible to coordinate and support collaboration between academic groups and industry/public sector organisations, on the topic of data and digital transformation. The aim is to establish strategic research collaborations to groups inside and outside of academia in order to attract external funding. In the initial phase the focus will be on supporting postgraduate research initiatives for doctoral students in data and digital transformation by establishing co-funding arrangements with non-academic organisations. In the longer term the focus will be on developing strategic collaborations and scale funding opportunities. The Strategic Collaboration Lead will manage collaboration and interdisciplinary research with non-academic partners and drive interdisciplinary research in data and digital transformation within Maynooth University. The Strategic Collaboration Lead will be responsible for initiating, driving and leading joint activities (e.g. projects, funding proposals, seminars, webinars etc) and liaising with the operations teams in the Innovation Value Institute (IVI), Hamilton Institute (HI) and other departments & other institutes across the University on topics of data and digital transformation. At the forefront of cancer control, Professor Karen Canfell and her team play a pivotal role in supporting policy, practice and decision-making for innovative cancer solutions. Their groundbreaking work has led to the transformation of Australia's National Cervical Screening Program, which transitioned to HPV testing in 2017, positioning Australia as the first country expected to eliminate cervical cancer as a public health issue. Professor Canfell's team also lead the Elimination Partnership in the Indo-Pacific for Cervical Cancer (EPICC) program. This is the largest ever initiative of its kind, working across more than 8 countries in the Indo-Pacific, leveraging Australian, international and in-country partner expertise to accelerate the World Health Organization's strategy for the elimination of cervical cancer. We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Program Coordinator to play a central role in supporting the EPICC program. The incumbent will provide operational project management and administration support and advice to ensure the efficient implementation of project plans, activities, and tasks across multiple workstreams, and provide secretariat services to ensure effective coordination of the EPICC consortium.
